Hi TW new member here. Been looking at this site for the past 4 years now, but never joined because I never had the chance to own a Tacoma. I was always envious of all you TW members and your awesome builds. Fortunately, this is the year I finally get it :D. I've been doing a lot of research online and also look at the "what did you pay" thread on here, but they never really answered my questions about pricing. I'm specifically looking for members who have bought the new 2012 in California (not saying other members from different areas shouldn't put input because all help is good help). Yesterday I got the invoice price down to $27,278 (no tax or lic). Looks like the dealership will work with $27,000 (no tax or lic). I was wondering if this is a good price. Their original invoice price was $27,800 (from what I remember).

    Details of the truck are:

    2012 Toyota Tacoma
    Double Cab
    Short Bed
    4x2
    TRD Sport Package (w/o navigation/entune)
    Magnetic Grey Metallic

Below I have included the sticker of the actual truck and the prices off trucar.com and overstock.com.

Looks like a good price to me. I got a the same truck as you in white from Manhattan Beach Toyota for $26,278 but thats because I qualified for the $1000 college rebate, otherwise their price was $27,278 before TTL. I say go for it. I wanted the Metallic Grey color but the closest dealer wanted an additional $800 and wouldn't price match so I went with white. Been loving the truck ever since and about to hit my first 1000 miles.

Are you opposed to a 4x4. I got mine on the 31st of january and paid 28000 out the door. just a thought. not trying to persuade in any way. with that said, if you go with that one, i think you may have a little more room to negotiate.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Looks like I lost out on that deal. I ended up walking away due to a friends suggestion that it can go lower. Went to other dealership and no one would work with $30,000 OTD. I was told by numerous dealership to look elsewhere. Fortunately, the credit union I got my financing from has a department that helps people locate cars at great prices. I was quoted $31,300 OTD. The truck has a few extras to justify the extra $1,300. The bank just has to secure the deal with the dealer and I should be picking up my truck this Friday :D.
