Hey everyone. So I’ve posted on here before about making my 4 cylinder prerunner Tacoma into an X-Runner version but decided not to because it might look weird. So instead I’m in the market of buying a real one, I’m saving up enough dough for a down payment because I did find some nice options from local dealerships. I found two that peaked my interest but one of them I’m having some suspicions about. The first one is a red 2006 Tacoma that looks really promising. This black 2006 though is what I’m having an issue with. I think it’s sitting a little too high for a stock XRunner height. So I’m not sure if these guys did some sort of lift kit or they just slapped on some X-Runner spoilers and called it a day. Can you guys help me out?

 

Can't tell on my computer, but does the black one have BSM (Black Sand Metallic?) paint? Toyota changed to a basic black years later.

The red one appears to have the correct "red" (orangish-red) paint. I think it was called "Radiant Red." Toyota changed to a darker red several years later.

Both trucks have the correct 18" wheels, and I can't see a difference in ride height in those photos. Do they have Bilstein shocks? That's an easy check. But I guess the true check is whether they have the "X-brace." That was only installed on X-Runners.

The only thing I see that might look a little suspicious is the X-Runner badge placement on the black one appears to be a little too far to the right. The red one looks correct. I snapped a picture of mine for comparison. It's placed in the same spot as the red one:

 

yeah I do see that the badge is really off. Sadly they sold the red Tacoma yesterday so I’m gonna have to keep looking ;w;

Tires are oversized.

 

Looks to me like the tires are about 3 sizes bigger than usual

 

The black looks too low (for stock). I just bought an EXrunner that had the kit removed. It has obvious indicators from the factory like unique factory studs along the body to attach the trim special attaching point cut outs in area. I'll try to get some pictures for you.

Im presently locking for the replacement body kit if you happen to have any leads.
