Went Christmas tree cutting this weekend, wore in the new calipers, went to the Toyota dealer to look at the new tundra, and helped a friend swap new coils onto his icons IMG_20161127_122341.jpg 20181202_102401.jpg 20181202_130646.jpg 20181202_113502.jpg 20181202_113500.jpg 20181202_115052.jpg 20181202_115024.jpg 20181202_154042.jpg 20181202_185857.jpg

So how do the 6 pistons work with all your weight? Slight upgrade or huge difference??

they were good at initial but after i wore them in correctly (do acceleration to 60mph runs and slam it to 5mph for 5-10 runs) it changed significantly, especially with the upgraded brake master cylinder. Almost want to say the speedo was not accurate in recording slow down times lol

stopping distance is probably cut in half, probably have to rebleed them soon after that break in, each caliper has two bleeding valves so tires need to be off to do the whole process

given the size of the calipers, they are lighter then the oem ones, the rotors im not sure about tho

Cut in half!? Like you stop in half the distance as normal or the stopping distance from when you first installed them has gotten worse?

I read that as it was ok, but once he bedded in the rotors it got so damn good his Speedo couldn’t slow down enough.

I'd say next to regearing, this was just as good in terms of what you get for the $$

maybe a rear conversion is in order down the road but for now it will do :)

I bought it during black friday so i got 22% off its normal pricing, which is around 2100 normally for the kit, 250 for the master cylinder (which is not needed but nice to future proof it)

Worth it imo, especially when the truck is loaded with another few hundred in camp gear. I remember how shitty it was carrying gear for three weeks across the states

Have you used the ones you rebuilt with the boot slide mod yet? If so how did they hold up? I'm pulling my coilovers soon and figured I would reboot the CVS while i have it in the air. I'm just not sure if I'm better off with the boot slide or extended aftermarket boots.

White Rim Trail. Was just there over Thanksgiving weekend. It's very much worth getting a camping permit and doing over 2 days.

tbh i wouldnt extend a oem length boot, how mine tore was when the truck got air it extended the boot and that cause it to tear.

if you are going to extend i would call up cvj and just order a pair of the inners. My new rebuild i took out the clip holder for the extended length, its back to normal now.

white rim trail, i would reserve a permit a head of time if you plan on going during busy season, otherwise you can get one there at the center
