I think this build is pretty much done, this is the longest i've gone without buying anything for the truck and I find myself spending less and less time on tw. Been looking at a second rig, heavy duty for sure since Ill need it to haul equipment and the tractor to the new house once its done. Browsing around dodge and van forums so im still looking, preferably a 2500 like chandlers or a dually sprinter 3500 hd van. Might post my build here or just entirely on their dedicated forums, who knows. I just wish toyota imported their diesels here

Nice! how much prep before you started coating everything? I have to do this eventually as well lol. such a massive effort to remove all the skids and sliders just to try and prevent rust haha

That last sentence hit me lol

After my recent trip to the Philippines, i'm frustrated that everywhere else in the world has awesome diesel midsize rigs, and we get nothing. Unless you have the tools, skills, time, and money, diesel swapping a tacoma is too much IMO

Prep is all how you want to go about it, I sprayed down the frame with degreaser, went over the frame quick with 80 grit and used self etcher spray. My coat from last year is holding up well but the new additions of the relocates were starting to rust around the backside of the welds in the frame so I figure I do the whole thing again. Since I already did a coat last year, I didnt remove any armor and just went over areas I could access. I did however prep the slider legs with por 15 because they get all sorta beat up and chipped from the tires

Yeah it sucks we get the tail end of the good motors with Toyotas

If you travel anywhere their diesels are the most widely used and the cummings from dodge are pretty good compared to the alternative domestics. Swapping aint worth my time and I'd rather have a second rig for my utility needs.

BTW your trip photos look good, seems you had a good time. I need a vacation, gotta decide if I want to just go back to hawaii or make a road trip here in the states.

thanks man! trip was awesome, 3 weeks in a 3rd world country really straightens out your perception on life lol (not to get philosophical)

If you could swing it, do both. So far this year we've been on 3 mini vacations and the Philippines. Might take another week off here soon for a road trip idk still planning that one out. Life is short, go see some cool shit somewhere

    ROSEN Sun Visors

Been wanting these for a while, they are the same company that distributes to icon 4x4, so when they offered a hook up I was stoked to receive them. Another mod is checked off in the books

they come with all hardware to mount and have larger lens if desired. I opted for the oem fit

edit: currently working with Rosen to bring more lens options that are more vehicle specific towards toyota vehicles. The current offerings work but they have plenty of room to improve upon and provide oem or better fitment.....stay tuned, ill post lens updates
