    helps if you state what you want to use it for..

    cleaning grit from under your fingernails ------------> gut a moose? something in between?

    i think gerber makes a great economical knife. sub $50 for sure. i like to go up a few steps to Benchmade.

    fixed blade? for your needs i would get a folder. backup? what is your primary blade?

    here is my daily carry..well, now i carry an antique case folder my stepdad gave me for the holidays.

    benchmade. dont buy the cheap benchmades from china..it is obvious from price. this one was $170 or 200. i'm an engineer in a tunnel build. in an emergency i would need a GREAT blade to cut thru some canvas bulkheads to escape. now that i am more deskbound..the case is perfect.

    here is my benchmade, and my case. ( i own alot of benchmade blades :))

    I've done a lot of research on Benchmades. Nice blades.
    Folders... Call me paranoid but I am skeptical about the locks. Haha
