Make sure you read about how to properly install the seat as well because you cannot use the buckle clips from the seat to put the car seat in the middle.

I had a 2010 TRD DCSB, got into a head on collision at hwy speed, then spun down the hwy bouncing off the cement carricades until getting t-boned by another SUV while spinning. Had by 3 year old in the drivers side rear forward facing, and a 1 year old on the passenger side rear facing rearwards. Side curtains deployed during the initial head on, and im not sure if they were still inflated when we got t-boned about 3 seconds later. Both kids without a scratch on them and were laughing 2 minutes later.

Get quality car seats, install them properly on the rear seats either forwards or rearwards facing. No matter how safe you drove all it takes is one a-hole to fall asleep going around a corner and put you in a situation you cant control. The car seats take up all the space on the rear right up to the front seat backs so no way they would fit in an acess cab.

I put my kid in my regular cab, it’s got anchors behind the seat and the airbags turn off. Really, the RC is the next best from the DC. Safe for the kid and an excuse to ditch the lady.

The dog had a bit of a sore neck for a couple days as she was flung out at some point and was hanging over the side by her collar (you can see it on the pic). Fortunately my wife got to her right away and let her loose. Then 2 hours later a friend came to pick us up... with a pickup so the dog had to ride in the back again. She jumped right in, tail wagging.

The saddest part of the story is that I’m a 3rd gen owner now... at least its a manual again.

F-N-A brother! Thank God you all got out of that one alright!

What bumper did you have? Do you think that helped in the accident? And did you post that in the "armour after accident" thread?

An ARB covered in line-x. When we hit, we were overlapped by about a foot so the oncoming jeep hit the bumper right about where the missing fog light is. Both vehicles doing 80kmh and the line-x wasn’t even scratched! Not sure what would have happend without the bumper... but could only have been worse..

Someone posted the news article of the accident in the plate bumper accident thread but i didnt post any pics... will do now though.

Jeeslz. A 100mph combined offset and that's as much damage as it took. Wow yeah I might have to get me an ARB. The little ones are made of rubber and bounce right back, did you have any lasting affects from the collision? I got T-Boned by a drunk several years ago (I was in a Scion) and still have slight back issues. Pretty much gone since I got a better bed (seriously my purple mattress changed my life) but still gets fussy once in a while.

So I have an access cab and an infant car seat does safely fit in the back, but your front seat needs to be nearly all the way forward. Not comfortable for the wife. Instead of buying a new truck, you can do what I did, but the wife a new rav4, and keep the ac!

True story, My last relationship ended when I bought an AC Tacoma. Not sure how "I never want kids" went repeatedly unheard up to that point.

I put my sons rear facing chico infant seat in the back, in the middle kinda wedged between the front seats. I used one ring from each side and this worked great
and put him in the middle of the truck. When I had no passenger I put him behind passenger seat. Worked great for me.

Lol at the AC owners putting car seats in their ride, risking the life of their kid versus being responsible and buying a vehicle that properly fits the car seat. You have to think of their legs being crushed or for those that wedge it in between the two front seats, how it doesn’t have anything blocking flying debris coming through the front windshield. Some accidents are no joke.

Wonder how they’ll feel when their infant kid dies/severely injured in an accident. Bet the cost of a new vehicle won’t seem like so much at that point.
