Brother is looking to pic up a truck for a second vehicle. He wanted a Tacoma, but he has moved towards the first gen Tundras now.

What are things to look out for, better years, common issues, etc....?

He is going to look at a 2002 V8 with 100k. Guy is asking $10k for it. He asked my advice, and I didn't have the first bit as I am not a Tundra owner.

    Thanks
    -Josh

I've heard some of the early 2000's tundras have some potential frame rust issues, mainly on the cross members. So I would def look the frame over and maybe have it looked at by a Toyota dealer especially if its from an area with a lot of road salt in the winters. Other than that the 4.7 v8 is a solid engine. Guy I work with has an 03 with 250K miles and no issues.
