    Hey,

Just noticed today that my driver side rear drum brake had oil leaking from it. Upon inspection i noticed that the oil smells like gear oil and wasnt coming from the brake drum piston. So it isnt a brake leak. Looking all around the inside on the drum i noticed fresh oil building up under the hub area. I just want some second opinions before i start spending money to fix it. Also it kind of makes since cause i replaced the rear locking diff with new fluid about a month and half ago.

If it is the seal leaking then these are the things i am going to buy for both sides:

    -seals
    -bearings for 6 lug 4x4
    -shoes
-drums (drums are really rusty and corroded, not worth turning them)

Anything else i should look into getting as well since im at it? Any suggestions on what brands i should go with when buying these parts?

This is my first time working on something like this. In the past i only owned vehicles with Independent rear suspension.

never mind folks i know what i need and how to do it. Just got done researching it and getting all the part numbers i need for all the parts. OEM factory owners manual helped out a lot. Toyodiy.com is also a good site to get part numbers and so is villagetoyotaparts.com for diagram to part number.

Only issue i have is even though napa sells the koyo bearings its an sub assembly and not just the bearing themselves which is fine i suppose, save time/work for me not having to press in and out the bearings.
