INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL

Is there a good write-up on a how to change the axle diff seal on a 2nd gen, with pictures. I have searched and found some good 1st gen write-ups or a few PFD files but not much.

No But thanks. I was trying to use the technical term and forgot to say seal.
The diff seal is what I am looking to replace.

 

The factory service manual does not have much info.

 

Going to replace Diff seal tomorrow. I hope when I open it up I don't find the Diff bearing shot. If the bearing is destroyed what are my options?

 

Do you mean the pinion bearing or carrier bearings? Either way they are usually pressed on from what I have read. It takes a press or gear puller to remove them.
