Ditto on the air lockers along with your regear. You'll save on labor. Mine's getting exactly that right now (and suspension)

I have the stock e-locker, but have heard the Arb ones are great since you can be somewhat moving and engage them without it being bad for the system. So I was wondering if it would be worth it to just swap out the e-locker with the air one while I was in there since it would suck to open the thing back up again later down the road and cost more in labor. But tell me if that sounds like a waste of money to switch from stock e-locker in the rear to an air locker. Of course on the front, get the locker installed with the re gear. Mainly questioning the rear air locker

he got 4.56 in his sport same as 2nd gen gears. He has the smaller rear diff (8" I believe). 3rd gen's with the rear locker only have 4.88 gears available. That is why he did 2 lockers.

And as far as 4.56 in a 3rd gen, unless your keeping stock tires dont do it. I have 4.88's and I wouldnt mind if they were 5.11. With my 33's I'm still only around 2250 @ 85 MPH.

Not sure if this was answered already, but what is the general consensus on labor cost to install these kits on front and rear? Got a guy wanting to charge me 750 to do it, and I'm not sure if that is about right or not.

If that is front and back, don't hesitate, that is a great price. General pricing is 900+ in my area.

He said that is front and rear. I wasn't sure if that was too high or if he was right in the wheelhouse.

That is a good price IMO, if he has good reviews I wouldn't think twice.

Agreed winch is why I haven't done it yet. I'm going to wait until I'm out in Colorado where there may be more shops.

Is regearing to 4.88s even worth it if you're only running 265s? I don't have any plans to run 285s anytime soon.

Or would it be better to just go with 4.56? ECGS builds third members with 4.56 gears in them.

Yeah, I would a regear is necessary, if you don't plan on running bigger tires I would say wait for a 4.56 if it will ever come out. Or even 4.30s from toyota but they are like 1600 for front and back ring and pinions. Ive driven the AT and it's just not enough. Hence one of many reasons I bought a MT because they have 4.30 gears stock, but after adding full armor and 285s I needed 4.88s to be satisfied with the loss of power.

those third members aren't the 8.75" differential you have.
