5100's all around, fronts at 1.75". TSB leaf pack + Toytec TSB AAL
Well Lentsnh says that he has stock U Bolts with AAL, so I'd assume yours would definitely be good. I thought I read somewhere there stock U Bolts with an AAL is cutting it close with having enough threads.

Ok, so i was looking at the procomp lift and it says that it clears a maximum of 4.625" of backspacing, the rims i have have 4.74" backspacing. What would i have to do to make this lift work?

Good question. Maybe start your own thread and ask?

Not trying to be a pain here, but you'll probably get a lot more replies if you started your own thread. Doesn't seem like the setup you are inquiring about is even close to what I've installed and posted the results of here.

    Good luck though

    Your truck looks great!

I installed a set of 5100s @ 2.5 on my truck this weekend. I couldn't be much happier. Definitely an improvement over the trd suspension, and the TRD OR coils seem to ride well at 2.5 with the 5100s. There is no doubt that the valving on the 5100s is a huge improvement over the stock HD Bilstein shocks.

    Good to hear!
Did you also install the TSB AAL's in the rear?
Did you use a Carrier Bearing Drop or Axle Shims??

How 'bout the front - any vibration or alignment issues there?

    Thanks Sir!

I've had an AAL in the rear for quite some time now. A week after I bought the truck new, a friend of mine and I tore the front and rear apart and put a RevTek 3'' lift on the front, with the AAL in the rear. I ended up getting some slight vibrations in the rear at 45-50 mph and installed the carrier bearing drop. It helped out some, but there is still a very slight vibration. I'm not worried about it though as it is very minimal.

I eventually took the RevTek spacer out from up front due to the crappy ride and wandering at highway speeds (alignment issues due to stock UCAs). I got a set of TRD OR struts for the front and some billys for the back, and used them in the mean time. This weekend is when I replaced the front shocks with the 5100s and set them @ 2.5 inches of lift. I am taking it to get aligned tomorrow so I'll let you know how it turns out. If I have to I'll throw a set of LR UCAs on there, but I don't think it will be a problem with the stock UCAs.

Yes you will be fine. Just make sure to torque the bolts to the specs.. 30 ft lb I think is what it is.

And I have about 2-3 (including starter thread) on the U-bolts as of now.

hey i was wondering how much longer the extended length the 5100s are compared to stock, i had the tsb done and i put a 1.5 block in back and im having a clunck in the back as if im bottoming out my stock non trd and non bilstein shocks when im going fast over speed bumps and curbs, could it be possible that i am? are you having this problem with your rear lift? anyhow ANY help would be helpful or recomendations on a better rear set-up, thanks!

I'm pretty sure the 5100s allow for up to 2" of lift in the rear. I'm no expert, but I bet if you put 5100s on in the back, the clunk will be gone. I'm not having any issues like this on my truck.

    Really? All that money?

    $180 Front 5100s + $65 Alignment = $245

That is pocket change compared to the alternatives (excluding the infamous spacers lifts).

EDIT: So add $60 bucks for the AAL, and a couple for the top plates.

GREAT POINT Especially when the spacer lifts mess up the ride, i have a 3" front, 1.5 rear and the maker claimed that i would have a stock ride afterwards, not the case, its stiffer, feels like its jumping over bumps instead of absorbing them if that makes sense, i messed up, dont do what i did! I WANT 5100'S!!!!..... anyone wanna buy a lift kit? seriuos....

The parts used in this lift really didn't cost that much compared to the alternatives (excluding spacer lift, which I'd rather leave the truck stock). And honestly, you'd be surprised what 1.75" of lift does. You can really tell a difference when next to a stock tacoma. The 1.75" of lift in the front with the larger tires really set the two apart. Including the tires being larger, I bet its more like 2.25" higher in the front compared to stock.

Last weekend I installed my billys at 1.75 and a AAL (Thanks for everyone's help!) and started to notice a slight shudder at 10 mph. I'm pretty sure it wasnt there prior to the lift.

STLtaco09, is your shudder still there or did it go away? Did you figure out what it was?

    Thanks!
