Nice! I thought of doing something similar but I finally just had it and jumped the pro bandwagon.

Nice, welcome to the club. I don't know why they didn't make that stock.

I purchased a take-off OE Cheese Grater Grill from one of the forum members "TT005". I really like the way it looks on my Metallic Gray compared to anything else that I've seen on the market so far. But I did experience a water issue with the TSS system on the first rain event after the install. Seems that the ugly OE grill offers better weather protection than the Cheese Grater Grill. Since the new "take-off" grill wasn't really the correct factory combination, I didn't feel right about asking the service department for the TSB for water intrusion. So I manufactured my own design to protect the TSS module. I've only seen one other mild rain event since employing my own corrective design. And, so far, the design has worked very well.

Yep, it would definitely happen.

Looks good! I’m glad you were able to get the water intrusion issue resolved.

I have the black grill trim piece as well. Waiting for some time to install it. I'm also replacing the chrome rear bumper end caps with the black OEM ones as well.

    Where did you buy that?

I like it. Calms down the chrome without going full bro.

Very nice. I just ordered the SR surround to do the exact same thing, along with the emblem blackouts.

Death to all faux chrome-plastic trim bits.

On my last Off Road, went with a faux Pro grille, removed the chrome emblems, and added textured black BumperShellz.

I’m sticking with the chrome grille surround, emblems, and rear bumper caps this time around.

Love it OP! Such a difference!

Wish I could justify the $ to do it too! I'm cheap, the only thing I couldn't leave alone were those gawd forsaken factory speakers!

I’m with you. I found one used locally for $40 but I have a hard time spending on cosmetics when I still have functional things I want to do.

I could do $40 if it came up. Man, you should of seen how hard it was for me to splurge for sliders, then wait 4 months & still not get them.. Can't believe what some of this stuff costs! On the real, can't wait for my tires to wear out, haha

They did in the 2020s - no more chrome surround.
