Since this unit doesn't work with my iPhone (or iPod Touch), I just hooked up a RCA-To-Miniplug cable to Video1 and listen to it that way. I never wanted all that integrated stuff anyway. I can control everything from my iPhone.

I plan to find a way to connect the factory AUX plug to Video1, I just haven't decided how I'm gonna do it yet.

Finally got it all done! Bought the iPod cable thats made for the Kenwood and I actually really like the HU interface for it. I can play videos from my iPod as well which is a cool feature. Also routed the cable into the glove box so its nice and out of the way :D

I'm going to attempt this soon. Given the "problems" with this particular dash kit, is there another dash kit that my be less problematic?

I've heard Metra? or something like that? That might be what Crutchfield uses I'm not sure.

I want to get get the 8120. What wiring harness would I need for the JBL system (without sub)?
Is there a way to hook up my backup camera from Toyota to this system?
    Thanks...

I just bought the DNX7140 and am going to install it this weekend. Couple questions...

There are 4 wires on the stereo harness that I don't think I need to use but want to confirm.

Remo Cont. (Light Blue/Yellow) - I don't have steering controls so I don't think I need to connect it

Ant. Cont (Blue) - No power antenna on my 07 Tacoma so I'll leave this one unconnected

P.Cont (Blue/White) - I'm going to be installing amps in the future so I will connect this one when I get that far

Mute (Brown) - I'm not sure on this one. If it doesn't have anything to do with the bluetooth and handsfree for my cell phone I'll probably leave it unconnected as well. Does anyone know what this wire is used for? I've heard its for a carphone but who has one of those anymore? Please help!

Out of pure curiousity (well, not PURE since I plan on getting an kenwood unit once my taco comes in) where did you guys place the microphone for your bluetooth and then the GPS piece?

    Cheers!

I mounted mine up in the top driver side corner of windshield. You can clip it behind the plastic molding that houses the "oh shit" handle.
