As promised here is my install of the VAIS TECH product. It was a painless, simple install and works flawlessly so far.

Pre purchase and post purchase emails were answered very quickly, shipping was quick with email updates automatically provided.

Read the guide for programming steps.

For now I will leave the hardware in the glovebox until I decide on how/where to mount it. Antenna will go out the back of the cab onto the roof.

Current sale price at VAIS Tech was $249 for the kit without the tuner. I got the tuner at BestBuy on sale $49 and had a gift card that made it a lot less.

Benefit to me - keep stock radio, steering wheel controls, minimal install work - maybe 30 minutes.

Another successful SAT addition to the standard 2013 HU (DCSB/Sport).

VaisTech is located in the Denver area and there is a mobile install group that has partnered with them. PM me for contact info if you are interested in this area .

Watch for the tuner to go on sale and do the install yourself to save money. When I priced it out, it was cheaper then replacing the HU with a device that has all the features the stock unit does.

I'm wondering the same thing as it's about half the price of the other one.

I have a 2012, that has the shark fin and XM already, but no touch screen, if I were to buy one of these touch screens from a '13 and put it in, do I need one of these special tuners, or is it all just direct swap from the back of my stock non-touch/non jbl unit?

The 2013 non-entune touch screen units DO NOT have a sat receiver built in; you need the outboard unit.

It didn't work for me, the isimple gateway did add the sirius option in the touch screen, but it just let me scroll through channel 1-10 and displayed "CH UNAVAILABLE" even after activating that scc1 tuners SID.

I'm going to try and return that, and get I've already the Isimple gateway that works with the SXV200i tuner that I also purchased, which is the same one vaistech gives you

I'll let you guys know what happens.

Please do, I'm curious to see if it'll work better with the SXV200i as opposed to the SC-C1! I was hoping to use the SC-C1 tuner from a previous vehicle but it sounds like hanging onto it for this won't be necessary.

this thread makes me more angry that Toyota ditched the SAT radio for the 2013 Stereo. WHY is it there in 2012 and gone the year after??? Now we are forced to spend extra money on kits and monkeying around with installing receivers and antenna wires??? AGGHHH

So Toyota could sell you their add-on Sat receiver (made for the Scion, btw) for a little over $220. Thankfully, it's a breeze to install. Plug & play.

Thanks for all the info in this thread from all above posters! I was royally pissed a few days ago when I tore the dash apart on my '13 Tundra, only then to find that my already-owned SXV100 tuner wasn't compatable with my Toyota "SXM Compatable" Nav/Entune touchscreen. I've been trying to find something that would work other than the OEM stuff and these Vaistech parts might be just what I'm looking for. Unfortunately my tuner isn't compatable with Vais' business either (needs SXV200), but as least there's a solution.

Somewhere back in this thread someone asked how they could tell if their radio was SXM-ready from the outside. Mine was listed as "SXM Compatable" on my window sticker if you still have that from the dealer. Otherwise, I'm sure they could look it up under your VIN.

I don't have the P/N on hand, but if you check with the Toyota parts dept, they should be able to hook you up... the MOUNTING kit is for the Scion (and was an additional $100 if I recall correctly - it contains the wiring, antenna, and some brackets you won't need); the Sat receiver is for the Toyota. I mounted my RX under the driver seat, and the antenna on the roof, just at the edge of the windshield weatherstripping. Then all I had to do was run a single cable to the Head Unit, and plug it into the matching jack, in the back of the H.U.

Oh... and mine is the NON-En-Tune unit, so I can't vouch for that one.
