    Builders tape! Great idea! I frequently remove the tailgate, so, unfortunately, that wouldn't work for me.

    I didn’t like that both sides were stuck down on other options. The gapshield should keep dust down inside the bed but can lift to spray out the grime that gets in there when necessarily from winter driving, etc. just ordered one myself, thanks for the write up

    For anyone on the fence because you have bed stiffeners, the shield works great (at least with Total Chaos). Thanks for writeup, OP.

    Me neither until I looked at it and panic set in. The distance is just right where you can cut a part out and use the 2nd horizontal line in the shield as a score line. That takes out the forward most adhesive strip in that area but still preserves the rear most, which is the one the instructions make to be the more important of the two.

    this would be a nice simple mod. how well does it do keeping debris from coming inside the bed? Like dirt and dust when off-roading

    I do not go off road often, which makes me sad just to type out, but where I live is always dusty and almost always windy. I've not noticed anything entering the bed. But it's been especially super useful in preventing gunk from stuff I'm carrying in the bed from falling in that gap, like pine needles.
