Instrument cluster went nuts and threw all these error messages (abs error, brake system failure, cruise control malfunction, etc). Never had this happen before, and this 2020 Limited has 30k miles. I have since had this checked out and fixed (dealer charged me $80), but thought it would be interesting to put this up for everyone to see and possibly learn from. If there's any interest I'll post up what was the culprit. There is a video that shows it, but I have had no luck uploading the 80mb mp4. Ok, here's the youtube link (hopefully)... https://youtu.be/zX-NXAr49FI

Still trying to upload media for this for the context, otherwise the post is sorta pointless. Be patient.

Thanks, I'll try that now, sketchy cell service, site's not cooperating. Tried screenshots in the meantime, that didn't go as planned either....

I had issues with a Highlander. Half the instruments went blank. The dealer charged me $160 to tell me they didn’t have a clue and that they needed $600 to do a full diagnostic (with no promises of satisfaction). I told them to pack it up. It took me 45 minutes to find and fix the issue. There were several grounds going to the block that needed the contacts cleaned.

    Was it low battery voltage?

Ok, sorry guys, just got back to the house. It turns out that the mechanic plugged in their diagnostic computer to the OBD port and it indicated a problem at the drivers' side rear wheel. Upon inspection, he found the speed sensor cable cut (more accurately, chewed) in half. Apparently our local squirrels have gotten bored. The dealership just charged me a diagnostic fee and that was it. Now I'm going to buy pellets for my son's pellet rifle....

    I saw the video.
Good thing they found the issue.
    Are you fixing it yourself?

Tree rats! Remove any bird feeders and dog/cat food you have outside. May your aim be true, happy shooting!

Yeah, none of our critters are fed outdoors. Unfortunately our neighbor thinks it's cute to feed the birds (and squirrels by extension). Only real solution is to "remove" them....

glad you found the issue. In most cases where something like this happens, its usually always an electrical fault in the wires or the grounds. This also tends to happen when installing aftermarket products that are wired to the battery

Yeah, and I was sweating that initially since I have an aftermarket bumper with lights and also bed lights wired to the battery (fused). Luckily that wasn't it.

Glad you found the problem. In the future, just tell us what happened with maybe a pic to go along with the words. Many of us find videos annoying, especially when they are from somebody trying to get likes so they can be an "influencer" whatever that means. Ads are annoying which is why we are here instead of social media. YouTube is nothing but ads.

Sure will, I think you can divine from the number of posts I have that I'm no "influencer". I was having trouble uploading any photos to show what I was talking about while I was at the dealership and didn't get my ducks in a row until I got home. The point of the post, which apparently wasn't evident to some, was to help anyone who might encounter the same thing.

That's fine. We have a lot of kids come here and post "clickbait" thread titles with a video link and that drives some of us batshit crazy.
But yea, when dash lights up like Christmas it's usually one of two things.. wheel speed and abs sensor, the wire going to the sensor or.... a dying battery.
