State Farm has always taken care of me, but my policy number goes way back to when I first got a car.

Bottom line on modified vehicles is simple: Disclose all the mods and pay the price to insure them at a point you're comfortable. If it's too high, shop it around. But, you get what you pay for.

Most folks like to keep car, house, bike etc. together with one agent since that tends to give a discount.

YMMV though, State Farm wouldn't cover my HD in MD, but did when I moved elsewhere. It was modified, but my agent there, at the time, just refused bikes.

Why did you tell them you had a s/c? Secondly State farm has never given me crap about modified vehicles.

First off, they said they only covered things like stereos. What i actually asked was if they covered engine mods like a SC. They said no they don't. If i had taken them up on insurance, my sc would not be covered. Its about protecting my investment.

My current insurance doesnt care if i have one or not, they just won't cover over 5k in accessories.

I will check out state farm thanks guys.

Failure to tell your insurance company about something may keep your premiums down, but if they refuse to pay a claim, don't get upset. Personally, I want them to know everything so that there won't be any hassles at claim time.
