No idea why Nissan didnt do that, if the posted gains are accurate. The spacer surely doesnt have that kinda impact on the Toyota motors, does it? No idea about the Subi'es, and the oil starvation issue isnt on every truck. Seems to only be on a few.

Following the same thing in the case of the tacoma 05-08 had a log style header, 09 to current have a shortie style header. Toyota took noticed and improved rather than leave it the same. Because they will be using it for a WHILE. Had they followed your logic chris4x4 they would have done that from the start. Look at 2003 when the 4th gen 4runner came out it also had the log style header up to 2009 when the 5th gen was introduced. They improved on the design as there was lots of room for improvement. Same case for the lower intake manifold. Staying with tacoma 05-08 it has a lip from the casting process where the plastic intake manifold sits. 09 to current that is machined out now.

Ok, we're on the same page then. I agree with you on that you don't get the quick gains of the "good old days" with simple bolt-ons. But as good as the manufactures are, their hands are still tied with noise and emmisions and cost-penny pinchers. Power can still be had, but it costs more to find it for sure.

The oil pan issue is only in high potential for those that have the shallow lower oil pan. All Xrunners have that one. Some PreRunner have it as well, while others have the 4x4 deep lower oil pan. For those with the shallow oil pan, we learned after some testing that it is inthe best interest if that vehicle owner to make sure to fill the oil to the top dot on the oil stick. Usually right at 5 quarts depending on size of oil filter. Not what the factory recommends.

I am not sure why they would swap between the two either. I can post pics of the difference. Probably best in another thread though.

That's all I'm saying. Shirley powers there to be had, it's just gonna be a lot harder to find it.

Dyno sheets and then pass your judgment... That's what I am doing. Arguing over the topic is irrelevant until there is something concrete to argue over IMO. I'm willing to give the OP a fair shot at my money and a  for trying even if it doesn't produce the results that he/we hoped that it would.

Back on topic... maybe for at least the next couple responses anyway.

How many different Tacomas has this thing been tested on? Are there any pictures of the prototype(s)?

How did this spacer affect intake/engine sound? and did the test mule driver(s) notice any changes via butt dyno?

I'm well aware of the NST spacer and what people think of it. Unfortunately, I'm also aware of their price. I emailed them months ago inquiring about their spacer and haven't gotten any response.

Wasn't this thread started to follow the progress of another manifold spacer?

Maybe I missed something, but I thought there was some guy looking to produce his own manifold spacer for the 1GR at a more realistic price.
