While we wait, could someone point to ANY "proof" or "data" that shows an improvement by adding one of these spacers to a stock engine? Any engine. I searched a little and found nothing.

Different engines arent a good source of weather or not a gain can be had by a certain mod. Differenct engines are timed/tuned/fueld differently than others.

Yes, other engines are a good source of information. And, they're very similiar but not the same.

Not to be a stickler, but plenum spacers and intake runner spacers are two different things.
The site does show dynagraphs with moderate gains at high rpm. Though the 2 different graphs have different results.

Engines engineered, designed a built by different manufacturers are NOT a good source of information for performance mods, especially one like this. Read back to the first couple pages and a few pages back where they dyno'd an automatic Tacoma. The Nissans show much larger gains while the Tacoma showed very, very minor gains. Different engines can not be used as a source of information, what works on one, might not work on the other.

Weeeellll......if you go by the names of the Tacoma intake, you have the: upper plenum (plastic) and lower plenum(aluminum, which bolts to the heads). So technically it is still a plenum spacer. ;)

http://extremetruckperformance.com/?page_id=37 This is the spacer on a 2005 4.0 V6 Nissan Frontier (same engine 2005-2012) he wasnt stock, but doing a before and after dyno shows a gain regardless.

Like mentioned above, the Toyota V6 doesnt seem to show the same gains. The dyno of the Tacoma with the auto tranny showed minimal gains. More than likely within the margin of error of the dyno.

    Quite possibly very true.

Gives me an idea though. I might very well be able to get my ex to let me try it out on her truck. Since she has a manual. Not going to hold my breath on that one though.

Im not holding my breath on anything here. Dyno's were supposed to be a couple weeks from the first post, and here it is 2 months later.

Lol. No "quite" about that one. Very true.

I am getting on the dyno today......but not for the purpose of this test. Just to go over my tune since an exhaust leak was found. Dang turbo, is always messing up my N/A plans... ;)

To be honest I was hoping you would point to this. The link has a graph that states the red lines are the before and implies the other lines are after.
    http://extremetruckperformance.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/IMS-dyno-sheet.jpg
Look up this formula hp=tq*rpm/5252. This is why hp=tq at 5252 rpm. If this is not constant across the graph then the drive ratio is not 1:1. Meaning the results are skewed. This is not necessarily bad. The number can be used in comparison, however not a direct comparison. Similar does not mean same.
Back to graph. Look at the anomalies. There are some points were hp is increasing and rpm is decreasing or stays the same. Transmission shift points one might think. Though the 2 "after" curves are not similar (same?). What would constitute the change in those 2 curves? Why more power on subsequent runs?
The other graph on the link claims to show air/fuel ratios before and after. Why would they have changed? No programming changes were made. The MAF sensor or exhaust sensors were not changed, were they?
    I need more.

That is right. I can't believe that I had forgotten that we did do the dyno by the date which was set.
