Short tubes FTW!! I just installed a set on my 12' about a month ago and love the low to mid power and torque gains. Its right were i need it, for every day driving..

So that buzzing sound is gone. i decided to try another round at putting back the mounting brackets or rather pinning them with the factory bolt. so i had a friend pull up on the intake manifold while i put the bolts into place, tightened them all down. No more buzz. so if anyone decideds to leave the intake manifold engine mount bolts out, you may get a little buzz and trust me its a little annoying. -- just a friendly fyi

For the work of having your stock cats welded to shorty's, id rather stick with long tubes. Hawaii ain't got emission laws so you might as well go with the long tubes while ditching 2 cats at the same time.

Long tubes are more for high end power gains though. I like low end power.

Plus, if I had the choice, I would get rid of all 4 cats! Fuck catalitic whatever shit

Here is what one member did using a dremel to be able to use the stock brackets and then bolt everything down tight.

No need to pull the heads, unless you are just that ambitious. Just pull off the upper/lower plenums (including the spacer:cool:) and you will be able to see into the valley.

Supposedly the new style equal length headers are still in pre-production phase.
    ;)
    Amen

    The easiest way right there.

Finally got around to the install last night. Made it just about all the way through and ran into a few annoying snags regarding shit connected to the plenum ('12 year model problems). Long story short I just buttoned everything back up and will tackle the longer than expected install this weekend... I didnt have the time or patience last night to troubleshoot it out.

Alright, spacer is in! Ended up having to un clip a few things from the back of the plenum to get it to lift high enough to clear the studs. No bigs, just hard with what little space there is between the plenum and firewall...

First impressions are positive. Nothing crazy but im pretty sure i feel a bit more low end grunt.

Only issue I had was the rad hose connecting with the throttlebody. Real bitch to get loose. Ended up disconnecting the other end where it splits. Use some wide jawed pliers and wiggle it back and forth like a screw top to break the seal. I found that worked good for getting it loose. (Since it's been on there for 171000 kms)

Threw everything back together, started her up and took her to 5,000 rpms on the parking pad. No CEL and no buzzing sounds. Didn't bother to disconnect the battery cause it's going to take as long to learn the new set up as it will if I don't disconnect it. And I don't want to teach it all my shift points again.
