So i was at the dealer over the weekend having an oil change done. Asked not to have the gas pedal touched and was all for the break override flash. They say they would need to do both. The norm was that after you looked at your gas pedal and complained about it they would order you a new one. That was what my dealership is doing. Good friekin greef........I looked at him and was ready to say.......did you just hear yourself? Did like.....that make sense to you? Good lord....

Also.....for the low RPM rattle behind the glove box there is now a TSB for this. Although i did not find out what the number was i have made an appt to have it fixed.

I'm going to ask them to just do every TSB to date on my truck........

I have had Toyota's all my life but i'm starting to feel this company is going South.........

Can you give a brief synopsis of the break pedal problem?

Brake override flash to ecu and gas pedal trimming or replacing with smaller one is what the TSB is for. No issue with brake pedal.

Actually looking like there is 2 different TSBs on this dash rattle issue.

Instrument Panel Rattle Below Glove Box (T-SB-0106-10)
Some 2005 – 2009 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit an instrument panel rattle or tick noise below the glove box area. The faint noise is most evident when accelerating slowly between the 1000 – 1600 RPM range. The rattle has been found to be coming from a wire harness cover coming into contact with the HVAC bracket.

Instrument Panel Rattle Near Glove Box(T-SB-0087-10)
Some 2005 – 2010 Tacoma vehicles may exhibit an instrument panel rattle or buzz noise coming from above the glove box.

I'll get on AllData Monday and look what toyota is calling for to repair this issue.

I didn't mean to turn this into an english class. But you're telling me there is a difference in the way Canadians and Americans spell brake?
I always thought break was to break an object to pieces, and brake was to stop. I've never once seen ABS written as Anti-lock-breaks.

Just curious, not trying to stir the pot.

Do you have any more info on this "buzz" or rattle, I have a 2010 and something on the passenger side is making those noises, and realy starting to piss me off. A truck with 2700 miles should not sounds like this.

Thanks for posting this. I'm interested to see what they will do about it. I found the issue by reaching up under the glove box and feeling around while my friend drove my truck. I noticed that I could make it stop, but it would only come back after time, and it got worse. I could probably get under there and rig something up, but I am still recovering from a bad car wreck back in August.

    Played around a little yesterday.

I think it's got to do with the wire harness just to the right of the cabin filter. One harness is plugged in and that bigger piece of light colored plastic it sits in is super flimsy.

I'm gonna tape that plastic down a little better. There is also another little wire that runs up off of the plastic piece, gonna do something with that to.

spelt is the past tense and participle of spell. spelled is the manner in which you spell something but has become a replacement for spelt.

brake is universally an arrestor or verb to arrest in the english world

    the more you know...

    Alrighty,

According to Alldata, Toyota is saying that this problem is coming from an air bag bracket/tabs where some felt is not in the proper place, causing a noise.

Can't post stuff from Alldata on here, so I'll dig into my glovebox in the next few days and get a few pictures up of what they are talking about.

    -Remove the glove box
-Remove the cover piece where the glove box latch is.
-Should see a bunch of air bag wires and a bracket/tabs. Will be located near the top part of open spot of where the glove box goes.
-There should be felt material between the panel and tabs.
-Misalignment of the felt is causing the rattle...Toyota Says.

Sweet man, thanks for the followup! I agree with your first post about it being the wireing harness. I know I can "reach down there and fiddle with it"(that's what she said), and it goes away for a while. Is there a TSB number? If so, how would I find it?

The noise I was getting was more of a noise upon acceleration. Don't know if what I posted is for that or not.

But what I did with the wire harness:
-Located harness directly next to cabin filter.
-Should be 1 harness plugged into this super flimsy white-ish colored plastic.
-I took a piece of electrical tape and applied it to the flimsy plastic near the top. Attaced the other end of the tape to the cabin housing.
-There is also a very small wire set (2 wires) that run off the back of that flimsy plastic, I played with that a litte and made sure it wasn't touching anything.

This seems to have really helped, I do not noticed any kind of rattle when I'm accelerating any longer.

What do dash rattle TSBs have to do with gas pedal TSB?....other than all being TSBs.

OP mentioned something about the dash rattle and there being a TSB for it.
