Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Tacoma has rear drums because they work. . Forever. . End of story.

...Not the end of story. You see, they work so well that 99% of all other passenger vehicles did away with them last century. I think even Chinese made cars did away with drum brakes, and some sources even report that Yugo has done away with drum brakes. But, they work so well on the mighty Tacoma and they don't get all mucky while four wheeling according to Toyota. All is well with Tacoma.

Correct. Tacoma > yugo and china with its disk brakes.

Tons of dudes having their dicks cut off in taiwanese shops does that mean that because its newer its automatically better? Why don't you have your dick cut off? I heard even famous people and kids in California are having sex changes. .
My point Is that people automatically assume disk brakes are better just because they are disk brakes. That is not always true. There are benefits to both designs. Drums are cheaper and they last longer. They also resist debris etc from gumming up you brakes.. not like they don't all get wet or dirty but drums do have a small advantage with debris.

Disks are lighter and they cool better. That makes them perform better in heavy use etc, they cost more and they are open to everything. Backing plates cause more trouble than they help. They more commonly warp rotors.

The rear of your truck gets very little actually braking done anyway when its really a hard stop almost all the braking power comes from the front. There is no need for more brakes in the back. Sure you could put bigger better brakes back there that could help a little bit with towing. But out of toyotas mouth hardly any real towing is done on average so any more would be a waste for most people.

Another thing is the rear axle in the Tacoma is semi float, with heavy use they don't play well with disk brakes.

Most company's put disk brakes on the back solely because they got tired of whining trolls, like many on these forums!!! Lol

There are disc brake discussions going on in like 4 threads now....maybe someone should just make a "OMG REAR DRUMS SUCK" thread so all the gay shit can go there.

Haha there are way more than 4. At some point it makes it into every 3rd gen thread so far.

I am looking forward to the spwcs on monday. I will not be getting one, I love my 15 but its still interesting.
