Interesting thing I found out about the stock jack.....

    Rear Leaf Spring TSB, Front Bilstein 5100's set to 1.75, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 265/75/R16 tires, Black WeatherTech Floor Liners, aFe Pro Dry S air filter, lighted 4x4 switch......
    I was rotating my tires this weekend and discovered that the stock jack is not tall enough to change the front tires. I have 265/75/16 tires with Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75. I had never used this jack and thought I would try it for this tire rotation just to see how it performed. I installed the jack under the frame member where it says to do so but had to put the jack on two 2x10's to be able to use it. Anyone discover this when they tried to use the jack????

    Your truck is not stock. It is made for stock. Mine works perfectly fine.

    x2. Kinda expected when you lift your truck... It's an emergency use jack only for a stock height truck. Your fix with the 2x lumber is your best bet to lift it and get a jack stand under the frame.

    One of the main reasons I'm getting sliders for my truck is for use as a jack point for the hi-lift jack.

    I never referenced the manual but the yellow sticker on the jack said to place it where the frame begins to curve near the cross member. Looking from the outside it would be about lined up with side mirror on the door.

    OEM running boards and roof rack. Yellow fog bulbs and WeatherTech mats and window visors.
    Thats why I carry some 2x4 in the cubbies to give a bigger platform for one, and to stack to get more lift from it. Or get a longer travel bottle jack that some have suggested...oh and my floor jack wont get the rears off unless i jack from the pumpkin.

    I don't know what everyone's problem is, but my stock jack works just fine. I put it under the transmission cross member and it has no problem lift a front tire off the ground. so your doing it wrong.

    Ya with my Camburg 4" lift spindles keeping the travel I found it extremely hard to change the front tires in case of a flat. So I went out bought some Avid sliders and a 60" farm jack from Harbor Freight!

    No, those are different places. The front jack point is that little round spot on the frame cross-memeber bracketed by the front and rear splash guards.

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    X2 that's what I pay them for i do have wood blocks in the back of the truck just in case. But I'll have sliders and a high lift in a month or two.

    I say Toyota needs to supply a jack that interlocks with the a-arm. It wouldn't make any difference then what size tire or lift that you have.

    lift your truck a couple inches and you have to put a couple inches under the jack to make it work....yup, that sounds about right

    my trucks stock and i can just barely get the truck high enough to get the front tires out. toyota really could have given us a little bigger jack.

    They need to supply those bottle jacks that can extend by Twisting the top part
