Now that it's getting pretty nice outside, I want to clean the inside of my 2014 Tacoma. Problem that I have is that I'm overly anal about scents in my truck; I don't want any smells of any sort inside it. What cleaners and/or protectants can you suggest that have no odors whatsoever? Also, other than just vacuuming it out and wiping it down with a duster of some sort, what would you do to take care of the inside to make it nice and clean?

....ya, I've got nothin' for this one. Just about every product have a scent of some sort. Hell, even the "Unscented" stuff has a scent.

If I had to guess, you could try using a diluted, unscented laundry soap in a carpet/upholstery cleaner to clean all your cloth surfaces, then go over it again with straight water. Also, everyone recommends using 303 Aerosol Protectant to help keep smoke smells and animal odors from returning after cleaning. I guess you can try that :notsure:

Otherwise, go with what's suggested by just about every manufacturer of anything, ever: "Use mild soap and water"

Chemical Guys has interior cleaners that are not scented.

Go for high quality products, not cheap crap you get at Wally World and you'll usually find unscented products (and things that don't have a harsh chemical smell).

    To add:
You don't need to use anything other than a damp cloth, unless you need it.
I would go over everything with a microfiber cloth. Then take a damp one, and go over that, and then use one to dry.
Nobody says you need to use a product. Product would be for adding a shine, protection or removing stuck on junk.

Vacuum well and keep a couple microfiber ckoths in your car. It will stay quite clean.

    David,
The best way to clean the interior of a car and have zero scent would to use stream. Steam + Microfiber towels is really the best way to go.

Now regarding protection without any sent at all, I am sure there are products out there. I never really smelled the products that I use.

409 is scented, and on newer gens, far too harsh.

I don't see a problem with it. Next step is to Line-x the interior. Lol

For stain/soil removal from cloth I use Mequairs Upholstery Cleaner. (works well in the house too)

For windows I use Invisible Glass or a vinegar/water solution. The vinegar smell will not stay as long as you just use it on the glass.

For small area dusting (vents, radio, etc) I use an old makeup brush I found in a garage sale. Soft bristles, about 1" in dia and 1-1/2" long (the bristles) Gets all the crevices well, no risk of marring. I often wipe with a damp soft cloth. I like old flannel. Find PJs or shirts at the thrift store and cut out nice squares from the backs or legs)

I periodically treat all the plastics of the dash/doors to a coat of Klasse Cleaner/Protectant. Better than the famous 303, but too expensive (for me) to use in large quantities for things like my tonneau, where 303 is used.

Great you bring them up. I think their Stripper Scent line would be perfect for the OP!

It's a spray, work if work is needed, and blot with a clean towel. I think the blotting idea is to lift the damp soil that has been released from the fabric via the cleaner, instead of rubbing it around the fabric.

I did some spot work on 30 year old church pews recently. Kids shoe stains, coffee looking spills, even some ball point pen. Amazingly they all came off.
