I've got a 2010 Tacoma that is about to go out of warranty. On occasion, for no reason the radio will shut off. Hit the power button and it's back on with no problem. Sometimes when it goes off you can get it back on by hitting any of the channel buttons. Sometimes when hitting a channel button, that will turn it off. It's not that big of a deal but I'm hoping that it doesn't get any worse when the warranty has expired. It's one of those things that I'm almost positive it won't malfunction when I take it to the dealer.
Just curious if this has happened to anyone else. Hopefully it's a common issue that they will already be aware of.

You need a new head unit. Have your local dealer replace it under warranty.

Head units are on an exchange program. Even if the problem is intermittent, chances are they will just replace your head unit.

Eventually it'll start turning itself on as well. Definitely don't wait until your warranty is gone to have it changed out.

If you look in the Consumer Reports for Tacoma reliability by model year, look at 2009. The infamous big black spot that hardly ever graces the brand sits squarely on RADIO. Toyota knows it's a widespread defect.

Thanks for the advise guys. I was hoping that my situation wasn't an isolated one. I'll be calling the dealer on Monday.
