my keyless entry (lock and unlock) system only works some of the time. I'd say it works once out of 20 times I press the buton. Lock and unlock are equally inconsistent. I have changed the battery 2 times with no luck, what could it be? think the remote itself is bad? is there a way to check? the little machine at pepboys/autozone says it is working and has a good battery but when i take it to my truck it doesn't work? should i check something in the truck?

    thanks!

No, never in washing machine. I can not remember it getting wet anytime. Anyone have any more ideas?

It will only get worse. My driver's side eventually failed to the point I needed a new automatic lock for it. Mine failed at the door module, not the remote... They are very expensive unless your covered under warrenty.

Coma, did you try the spare keyless and see if you are having the same issue to isolate the problem?

Anyone else having this issue or had it resolved? Mine has this issue with both key fobs.

Could it be cell phone (or other RF) interference? I once had a Lexus key fob that was unreliable, turned out that my cell phone was causing the interference.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Dealer and Autozone usually have a transmitter/fob checker. It'll tell you if it's transmitting.

I have had this problem, it was caused by where I was parked at. I was parked close to some big power lines and it was interfering with it.
