Because that's Exactly what it sounds like. That's what makes that sound. Look at the springs at rest, bet there not all sitting at equal distance from each other, tips of at least one of the springs looks kinda arched up touching the spring above it. Pull the spring packs, look at the ware on the pads. (if they are all still there) the ware will be much worse on the side facing the outside of the spring pack.

By ear, I can tell you, springs are rubbing.

In the video, you are accelerating correct, then right before you stop the video you let off of the gas, correct? Your accelerating, putting stress on the leafs, every minute bump you hit in the road causes the leafs, which are already under stress to flex more, hense, more rubbing, when you let off of the gas, noise is still there, but less frequent since the leafs are not under as much load.

Trust me, that's your issue. Pretty much a $0 and 1-2hr in the driveway fix. :)

Okay worth doing much cheaper than rebuilding the differential it would explain that I do not feel a “vibration” in my pedal that it’s worse once the metal heats up and hasn’t gotten worse with 15k miles and couple 4 wheeling trips to Colorado. So I suppose I’ll still go on vacation for Christmas then.

Either way, I don't think it will matter for noise issue. Ware on u-joints and carrier is minimum.

Are you doing all of this work yourself or paying to have it done?

:) reason I asked is because most shops won't do stuff like add hard plastic. I know this SUCKS for clean up purposes, but if you want to test, jack up the truck on the frame so leafs spread a little, spray the s*** out of leaf packs with a good NOT silicone lubricant, drive it, see if the noise changes.

Bet it will :) for like a day or 2 :)

New leaf pack did the Dakar’s knew they would make noise I just suspect a more traditional squeak. I’ll lube them up and see if this is the issue might still add the shin and put it back to stock angle just to be safe

It's the leafs. Last thing I would ever think of with that noise is the differential, and I've blown a few. When I added Deaver leafs, same exact noise.

Okay would you shim? OME sold me this set up for my RC and never mentioned the angle of drive shaft I just know it’s off cause I didn’t have a winch yet.

With OEM driveshaft, I honestly can't tell you the best angle shim for perfect geometry, I ran 3" lift for about 10 years on OEM driveshaft, changed u-joints I think 3 times, carrier twice. But I over do maintenance. I never really bought into the shim thing. Can't hurt. When I went to 7" it was so badbad I just had custom aluminum driveshaft made.

To answer your question, if you have no vibrations, honestly, I don't think it matters, but couldn't hurt.

Thanks I’ll buy lube and spray the crap out of it and see if that helps if it breaks at Christmas at least I’ll be in Colorado where there are 4x4 shops. Thanks for the tip I’ll try it out.

I just thought about this, I have Double Cab, yours is Single Cab, angle will be more, shims might make a bigger difference. Can't hurt, I'd add the shims.

    Same crap everyone else got
That noise you hear occurring when you press the clutch in would lead me to the throw out bearing but I believe it would only be making that noise while pressing the clutch and not any other time.

The noise doesn’t change if I push the itch in so I rulled out the throw out bearing.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
check the shackles, did they get grease in all the right places with the install?

/I got paranoid when installing my OME leafs, I took them apart to make sure there was adequate grease. These kinda noises are super annoying even though it's probably not doing any noticeable harm.

wait did you ever locate a source of the sound?
