Hello, To all my fellow Tacoma owners!
I actually just found this site today. I loved some of the mods that I saw.
I recently purchased my Tahoma ( a month ago). After bringing this baby home, I no longer have shirts with buttons (chest bursting with pride). :)

Right now I am looking at possible upgrades for the audio system.
    I'm a music love!!
However, I also wanted to add the chrome undercarriage!

    Remember this:

Stereo upgrade will impress your ears,
Exterior upgrades will impress your peers.

Moral of the story: Impress your ears before you impress the queers .

I'm gonna have to go with the cosmetic upgrades. i personally love my audio system. i have the DC and i think it comes with a better speaker set up than the access cab but i'm not sure. i have had multiple people ask me if i have a sub or an amp. with the base up and the deck around 40 or 45 my mirrors shake so much i cant see out of them, so thats plenty for me

    How about useful upgrades?

Tonneau cover - keep stuff in the bed dry & covered.
Tailgate lock - help prevent it from getting stolen.
Floor mats - keep carpet free from stains
Seat covers - keep your seat fabric new & stain free
Ipod upgrade - no more carrying around CD's
Homelink mirror - no more garage door openers
Hood struts - no more manual hood prop
Bed Mat - prevent stuff from sliding around back there

    :D

nd, you gotta stop making so much sense. First I have to agree with you on the 2.7L thread, and now this. I can get the mirrors thumping with no problems. My only real complaint with the 6-cd system is the lack of aux input.

Blasphemy! Traitor! Say it ain't so!!!

Sure, I could thump my mirrors with my old stereo, BUT if you just upgrade either the deck OR the speaker (usually done first) - the sound quality is so much better. You will wonder why you put up with the stock setup - ever.

Sawdust: i dont need the aux jack but it would be nice if it played mp3 cd's. Thats the only complaint i've had. this audio set up is infinately better than what i've driven in the past

Really? I would think the BMWs have excellent sound systems. I have never tried one...

you gotta remember it was a 1990. Plus it was a 325 which is not high up on the luxury scale, but VERY high on the fun and sporty scale. I had a tape deck with a cd adapter coming out of it, that was it. plus one of my speakers died on me. Audio is my last consideration when driving. i dont care how nice the sound is, if the car sucks then the ride sucks. i had so much fun in that car i never considered upgrading the stereo or speakers.

Yeah, I'd have been satisfied with that too. 6 mp3 cd's would have lasted me long enough that I wouldn't mind changing them out when the time comes. It's so much better than my last truck too (a '97 Mazda B2300) which only had AM/FM/Cassette. I suppose my standards for car stereos are pretty low. My first car in high school only had AM/8-track

I learned from my parents, early on, if the stereo in a car didn't work, neither did the car itself. Oddly enough, that theory always proved true. There was a time when I had to had to have a stereo that could be heard 2 miles away, but now, I'd rather be able to run over bigger rocks.

I really like the look of Mat-taco06's system.
Would anyone happen to know where I might begin to find something like this?
