Hey guys! Just picked up my new 3rd Gen 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 automatic in silver sky metallic.

It randomly worked out that the dealer had the Pro 4Runner wheels in stock, and Discount Tire had the BFGs I wanted in stock (plus they price-matched Costco!).

Brought it home with 29 miles on the odometer.

...It didn't stay stock for long.

I took it out to the lake this morning to test Crawl Control. The truck is so badass!

Here is my old 1st gen 1999 with 193k miles (now for sale).

Only other plans (for now) are to add the Pro grille.

    More to come soon!

Nice. That is THE wheel and tire choice. Love it.

I was flabbergasted that it all worked out yesterday. Dealer had the wheels in stock and gave me a decent price. Then Discount Tire by the house randomly had the BFG AT 265/70/17s in stock and price-matched Costo (who was doing a $70 rebate and $14 install). I drove the new truck home at 4:00 and had new wheels and tires on it by 6!

Good question. I'm not sure. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't weld them. They're beefy AF, but its a PITA if you need to take them off for whatever reason.

They bolt-ons aren't exactly fun to take on/off especially if you snap a grade 8 bolt like i did

What are y'alls 3rd gen storage solutions? I'm transferring all of my tools and recovery gear from the old truck to the new truck. Unfortunately the old tool box doesn't quite work in the new truck. It uses "J" hooks to clamp down on the bed rail. There isn't really a bed rail to clamp to on the new truck. It looks composite.

What are your solutions for storage/gear?

    All of this...

...needs to be secured in here somehow.

    That's what I'm thinking about. It's tempting.

Probably going to leave the suspension alone for now. I made that mistake on my 1st gen. Got too aggressive and hated the ride. Plus, I paid a premium for the Off Road Bilstein suspension package. Might as well enjoy it!

I actually feel like the ride feels better. Better body roll on cornering even with a full bed. But yea the stock shocks are fine as is. But maybe when you hit 40-50K and need to get new tires anyways... might consider it.
