I am a new member to this forum and effective tomorrow a new member of the Tacoma ownership club. I’m a three-pickup guy with: (1) 2007 Dodge 5.9 Cummins Dually (bought new for hauling) (2) 1993 Dodge Dakota (bought at auction 5 years ago for $800 for a farm beater truck) (3) 2001 Ford Ranger which I bought used and sold yesterday that will be replaced by the Tacoma (for my daily drive around truck). I’m getting to the age where this is probably my last new vehicle, at least that was the line I used on my wife to get the new Tacoma. I looked at the Ford Ranger but decided on a Tacoma Limited with Crew Cab. I like the: dependability, reliability and resell value record of the Tacoma. My first two accessories will be Mudguards and Bed-Mat. Also, since I live in Minnesota I’m thinking of rust proofing (probably Ziebart). I would appreciate any thoughts on the need for and type/brand of rust proofing.

Steer clear of any hard Undercoatings
Like Ziebart. Use only soft coatings like Fluid Film, Wool Wax, Cosmoline.
Rinse road salts from undercarriage and apply soft corrosion prevention in spring and fall.IMG_20191008_145233266.jpg
