Has anyone downloaded iOS 11 and got “do not disturb while driving” to work successfully on your truck and have it self-activate via Bluetooth? It doesn’t work for me.

The theory is: the phone will not alert you for anything besides phone calls while connected to Bluetooth.

Also, this is not another place for android owners to feel like they need to explain why their phone is better. Thanks.

I’ve gotten it to work on mine (non-jbl).

Separate issue I’ve had - the head unit in my Tacoma will crash when making or receiving a phone call. It’s not all the time but it happens fairly consistently. It’ll seem to connect to the call and then freeze up and restart. As a result it will kill your current navigation and reset some settings (map mode, zoom, destination, route trace, top being north or direction of travel). After the entune system has restarted, it’ll connect to Bluetooth and carry on like nothing ever happened.

    This happened after iOS 11?

    Thanks!

Haven't set it up yet but will this weekend. I keep getting a reminder to set it up every time I take the skytrain though cause it thinks I'm in a car lol.

I did notice now that the pictures I have associated with my contacts now show up on the home screen

I have seen something pop up on the phone screen, but I just hit the try later or whatever message it was. I will have to pay more attention to the message when I leave work.

I did notice though that when I received a phone call this morning, that the contact photo showed up on the Entune screen. That did not happen before the update.

It’s connected to that via Bluetooth? Or is it set based on motion?

I think it's just GPS? I just assumed it's cause I'm traveling at 60km/hr or however fast the train goes and the phone's like "hey, you should setup safe driving mode"

Yup only since iOS 11. Never had an issue prior to installation of iOS 11. Started right after I upgraded so it's surely related to something in the upgrade. Otherwise I have really bad luck and my head unit decided to lose its mind coincidentally.

I haven’t had any issues yet. This is weird.

Hopeufully Toyota comes out with an update (doubt it).

iOS11 is quirky, my company sent out a email saying to not download it until Apple works out the bugs!

I’m sure Toyota would say it’s working as expected or they couldn’t reproduce the issue.

I guess I’ll try to disconnect my phone and connect it again!

Thanks for showing me it’s possible.

Seemed like a pretty worthless feature to me.
If You have it on all the time and are a passenger, or on the train it won't give you notifications.
Conversely If you only want it when you're actually driving but don't have Bluetooth, it won't work

Well our trucks do have Bluetooth, so that’s why I’d like to use this safety feature.

If you own a vehicle these days that don’t have Bluetooth, I agree it would be a paint.

Even the base model cars these days come with Bluetooth.

I think it would be a great feature for my 16yr old...who, however has a stock radio and no Bluetooth. That's why I gave that example.

    Alright.

Trying to figure out why it’s not working on my truck.
