    Is this possible?

My fiancé and I are thinking about getting an iPad for her. But she wants something that will run Excel. Is it possible to run Excel on the iPad?

I have used "Documents to Go" app on my iPad. It works well for excel.

As a really heavy Excel user myself I'd never want to use it on an ipad, or anything touchscreen for that matter. But that's just me.

But to answer your question, I don't believe there is a version of Excel itself that will run on it, but you could use an app like mentioned by db that will edit Excel sheets. I'm sure there's a bunch of them out there.

We found a program. Its called Numbers. Basically Excel for Apple. You have the choice even when you save it to save it as a Numbers file, a PDF, or an Excel file that works on a PC.

To run Excel, no. You'll have to go with third party software as suggested above. If she's doing anything beyond basic formulas, which it sounds like she might since that's an important feature to her, those will probably be inadequate.

Another option is desktop remoting software like "Logmein". It allows you to take control of a running desktop and run the programs. It can be a little slow depending on your internet connection and the program you're running (e.g. it's a little too slow to run Photoshop Elements).

Office2HD is the best Excel/Word app. Logmein works well for remoting into pc.
