iPhone 11 bluetooth drops during calls

    I had issues before I updated on my aftermarket HU, but post update it'll hold calls and works fine.

    Does anyone know of the factory head unit I pictured has updates? There is a software update function in the menu but I can’t tell if mine needs an update. Trying to keep this factory right now.

    I have an iPhone 11 Pro running 13.1.2 and am experiencing issues with the head unit disconnecting and/or rebooting when on phone calls. The phone call will continue on the phone and I have to finish my call on speakerphone. The trucks head unit has the latest software. I did not have these issues with my iPhone 8 Plus. I believe it is an issue with the new hardware in the Apple phones that I hope apple can resolve. I use my phone a lot on the road for work and it is very inconvenient. This is with 2 different Tacoma's by the way. One is a 2016 the other is a 2018.

    I agree it’s an Apple problem. Just not sure if hardware or software. I think they went BT 5.0 in this phone. I also wonder if Toyota needs an update to handle the 5.0

    Had a few issues with 11 pro running 3.1 but after update to 3.1.2 they seem to have subsided. 3.2.2 is not far behind, but from what I understand from beta users, there was no tweaking of the BT but of course they haven't released it yet so there is hope. My 11 pro will not connect to Raycon ear buds that worked perfectly with my old iPhone 7. I have an open case with Apple on this so we'll see what they come up with.

    It’s strange that it only happens on phone calls though. My music and podcasts will play for hours without fail. Whereas a call will disconnect in 5 minutes or less. The other thing that I notice is that the controls for answering and ending calls do not work anymore.

    I have been to the Apple store 2 times with no answers. The first time they wiped my phone and installed a fresh copy of IOS. The second time we tried a set of AirPods which had no issues with ending or disconnecting calls they told me to update my vehicles head unit which I have done and there is no change. If this is not resolved soon I will have to go back to my old phone and return this one.

    same symptoms here...I really think it’s an iOS 13 issue. My wife’s phone (8 plus) does the same thing since updating to iOS 13.

    same symptoms here as well on IPhone XS. Mine started around 3 weeks ago, right around the time I moved to ios13. I don’t believe it to be an iPhone 11 thing, just coincidence of a new iOS and iPhone at the same time.

    Another XS owner chiming in with issues and it's in my fiancee's Mazda 3 as well. Don't really call much but music randomly throws an error every few days and it resets playback like I stopped and started again.

    I am not seeing the disconnects, but I am seeing call controls not working (if I dial from the phone itself, audio seems to work fine through the HU). Has anyone else seen this?

    3M wrapped gloss white bumper caps, dipped badges, 4Runner off road wheels, ccg Toyota grill. Led headlights and fog lights. Bestop topper. Caliraised ditch lights
    I'm still experiencing issues even with the new IOS patches. Weird thing is this only happens with calls, no problem whatsoever with music. Also, entune reboots randomly more often now when i'm on calls.

    Have any of you guys that are having connection issues opened a case with Apple? I've got one in the works regarding connecting to Raycon Ear buds.

    I've been able to connect to my Taco and my wife's Avalon, but neither of us has been on a call longer than a few minutes and I've not streamed any music so I don't know if there's an issue or not. I suspect with all the problems reported here I my well have an issue with extended calls. I'll be testing this out.

    My 15 had the same issue, Had the dealer update the Entune software. Issue gone.

    I updated my phone about two weeks ago to the new ios to 13.1.2 and had no problems until this morning heading to work. My HU keeps rebooting every 40sec to a min long. Attached is a video from a fellow TW member having the same problem. Someone advised me to update the HU to an old software released on Sep 08 2017, this perhaps will fix the problem, I haven't try it as of yet.

    I disconnected my phone from bluetooth and the HU doesn't do it. Now, I turned off my "sync contacts" and appears that the bluetooth is working now. I haven't taken the truck for a long ride to fully confirm this.

    I have the iPhone 7 and have problems with it connecting since I can remember. Toyota recently replaced my head unit under warranty saying it wouldn’t download the new software. Still having issues.

    Thinking a new head unit is in the near future for my taco.

    11 pro is working fine with the stock headunit for me. Still on iOS 13.0
