Crap, sorry to hear Oz. I dread the day when my 'berry dies because I hate touch screen phones and on the business plan I'm on I believe there aren't any keyboard style ones available to us.

    S4? That's a funny joke.

I never had a 5 so I can't help here, but my 6 has been great.

I'm coming to the end of a 3 year contract

3 year contracts aren't even legal up here anymore

My S4 lasted 13 months, so I didn't have the luxury. First Android for me and it ran great for 6 months, then was squirrelly until it finally got out of hand and got replaced.

You might just charge it to the game. If you can wire it up to your stereo, an old iPhone like that would make a great iPod if you use iTunes. That's what I did. If you got 3 years out of an iPhone that's doing pretty good. No complaints with the 6 except the placement of the volume & lock buttons.

My iPhone 3G still works great, so does my iPhone 4, and my fiancé still uses a 4. Maybe I'm lucky.

Up here you can either buy the device up front at full cost or you sign a 2 year contract , pay a reduced rate for the phone and pay off the " device balance " monthly as part of your monthly fee

The device payments don't really show up on your bill but if you change devices early , you have to pay the outstanding device balance off .

Long time customers also get additional perks , for instance I can get out of my existing contract without paying the device balance outstanding and I get an additional $100 off the reduced rate for the phone I want if I sign up for a new 2 year contract

I just looked it up , so a 64GB iphone6 would cost $480 CDN ( $385 USD ) up front , and I sign on for a 2 year contract that costs me $65 / month , plus I would get an additional $100 off the cost of the phone , so $380 CDN total puts me into a 64GB Iphone6 with my current $65/month plan on a 2 year contract
