You’ve got to try the “Perfect Squeeze” from Hondo Garage man! Hands down best phone mount for motorcycles and really any vehicle.

I don't have the cup holder version. Mine is a more permanent ram mount, but it holds good with heavy off-road use.

@FreshMexicanTaco 's DMM is the best starting point.

    RAM mounts are killer though.

Yes. You grab as many balls as you need from @FreshMexicanTaco . There are six different positions to choose from. It takes a matter of seconds to move the ball to a different one.

I wanted something that was minimal, not higher than the dash, no blocking controls (that I use) or air vent. But I did find the solution for me that I pieced together

Being right handed, 5NUhOTBeRn+TOQhsoKaHXQ.jpg I thought putting the phone on the left might be an issue. Nope. The Hondo mount puts it at just the right eye sight level for me. And away from all the other stuff on the right side of the steering wheel.

It’s a pieced together setup for a magnetic mount- for that small form factor I was after.

Hondo Mount (the new version allows function of the vent)

And then you’ll have to get a stick-on metal plate to the back of your phone or if you have a case, sandwiched. I’m looking for another because I got a new phone.

Wait, do the ram phone mounts actually clamp to the phone? Or do u need to stretch that rubber deal over the corners?

The newer X grips come with a silicone secondary part. For most everything, just pinching the X will hold a phone solid. If you're nervy about it on an off road bike, you can use the secondary part that stretches over the corners. I've used X grips on and off road in both the Taco and my bikes. In my experience, the phone doesn't move short of a crash.

Cool. I have a spring loaded normal phone clamp, on my DMM. The ram looks more robust, but only if it's secure and doesn't rattle.

I use the Ram Quick Grip: https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-HOL-PD3U

I had the x grip but didn’t like that I had to use two hands to put the phone in and take it out. This one is one handed. In my truck I do t use the side grips but on my bike I do. Very stable and easy to use.

No rattles and no issues here.

Two handed operation is a feature. I see so many folks messing with their phones when using magnetic bases.
