So I thought I had it all figured out, buy an OME kit with 885's, Dakars, LR UCA's bushings, u-bolt flips, extended brake lines, yada yada yada. $1800 later I have a 3" lift (quality product) but a bit more than I wanted to spend. This would have eaten up my tires budget and left me standing on 265/65/17's.

Along comes Ironman 4x4. Pretty simple kit to spec, from Sierraexpedition.com it looks like $880, put some load 'C' springs in front for $8, and change out the front shocks to foam cell shocks for $40. Total I would be looking at is $928.

I would like to get about 2.5" of lift, I intend to run full skid plates, and rock sliders. I don't see a bumper or winch in my future right now - however lord knows that could change.

What do you think I need to complete the suspension?
Will I be able to put 275/70r17 under the truck without cutting much?
What would you suggest? - I'm not interested in blocks/AAL's for what it's worth.

2008 Access cab, v6, 6spd, currently I only have a Relentless Fabrications IFS skid.

Sorry, I know there are tons of lift threads, but few focus on Ironman 4x4. Thanks for all of your help!

PM bostonbilly, he just installed an Ironman kit on his 2012. He's got sliders so far, not sure where he's at with skids.

Not sure if you'd clear 275s, maybe if you took off the mud flaps. You could easily clear 265/70R17s though or 255/75R17s.

I read over bostonbilly's threads. That's what sold me on the kit. I actually just pulled the trigger. Purchased an OME trim packer with the kit to even out the Tacoma lean. I must say I'm very impressed with sierraexpeditions.com, I spoke with Cliff (asked a bunch of stupid questions) and he was very straight forward with what I needed and what I didn't. A+++ for not trying to do the up-selling!

Now forNow I'm finalizing my purchase and answered about lift enhancers. I ordered the ome trim packer, but didn't know if I should get a 10 mm and 13mm enhancer to get closer to 2.5-3".

Also, it seems I will need the sway bar locater if i intend to use my sway bar.

    Sound correct?

I believe when you approach the 3" mark, the sway bar relocator isn't a bad idea. The other part, I have no idea. You could PM Billy and ask how much lift he got and if he used either of those. I'm pretty sure he's closer to 2" though so he probably didn't. He didn't want to have to buy new UCAs.

Thanks for the quick replies! At work so browsing on my phone, sorry for any odd questions, hard to search. I'm talking with Billy right now, sounds like he just did lift only, and is sitting at 2.5". I'm getting excited, 255/75/17 Cooper discoverer at3 will be in Friday, lift by mid week or so next week.
