I was doing some research on the scangauges and found that some people were having problems calibrating them and what not and i know that alot of fellow tacoma owners on this site have them and recommend them, but i really just don't know alot about them. So if anyone reading this post, and who has a scanguage, could you please let me know what you think of it and what is it like to install it in atleast 400 words in essay form ...nah i'm just kiddin, lol, just please let me know what all they do and what not, Thanks

I like it, very easy to program. Seems to be accurate as far as gas mpg goes. Each fill up is dead on or one or two tenths off. I have it set for amps, water and intake temp and mpg. To me, worth every bit of the $140.00 I paid.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
My rational is it's cool, but just another tech toy.

    Lots.
Yes, my moms check engine light came on her highlander. She had no idea what was wrong and said she wanted to take the car to the dealership. I said let me run the codes. The codes popped up and I looked them up. They were common with someone not putting their gas cap on tight. I checked the gas cap and it was barely on. I tightened it and cleared the codes. Haven't come on since.

Probably save my mom $75 right there just to have toyota look at her car.

I think for me its a no-go. I was contemplating it but IMO its probablly nothing I need.

Are there any other scanguage type things that show maby: MPG, Miles till empty, Engine temp? Thats all i would really use it for.

You have a point there!! I work at autozone and I swear if I had a penny for every time I have to scan a cel I would be rich. Im not kidding!!! The scanguage 2 not only does what a $100-$200 scan tool does but tells mpg, temp, ect.... So worth the money? IMO yes! Now I just got to get one!!

For $140 ...you can't beat it. It's worth it.

It's a trouble-code reader. That in itself, is a major benefit to have. YOu can plug it into any vehicle (with OBD I beleive) to read trouble codes. I've never had to use it, but it's nice to have that.

I also like the extra data that it provides....especially the DTE (distance to empty), coolant temps, etc.
