x2! $140 is a great price! I purchased mine in Phx for about $170 a year ago. It is a great device. It can troubleshoot some codes for you. I have also plugged it into other vehicles to troubleshoot their truck.

    On my display I have:
    MPH MPG
    HP MTE

    HP is displayed as percentage
MPG is MPG for the current gas tank (you could also do instant MPG)
MTE, like Janster is 'miles to empty'

SG is a good device to invest in. Since I purchase my SG, I am more conserve driver. I like seeing my MPG and MTE.

worth every penny if you ask me. Had it for about 2 months and still have a use of it every time I take my truck. 140$ is not expensive for such a device, just go for it you won't regret.

Yeah I went to the website and I read some other reviews else where but I still wanted to get the opinions of people who have actually used it

I understand... In a previous post you asked whether or not you could read OBD codes with it.
If you go to the website, it'll tell you all about that and everything else it does.

Thank for all the replys, I pretty sure i'm gona get one now. I don't trust my calculations for mpg and having a tool to read engine codes and reset the CEL could come in handy.

    Thanks again and Merry Christmas

Found myself constantly looking at it and having repeated near accidents. What's my mpg? What's my mpg? I have no attention span. Now I just use it to read codes if I get them.

I found the ScangaugeII to be an excellent tool for monitoring everything from engine load to instant mpg and voltage, especially when towing. I like to track mileage, and it's a simple task, I have a gauge I programmed that lists my running average for each tank of fuel. On my 2009 4X4 4 cyl, it was almost a necessary item. On my 2010 Off Road, I find that it bothers me knowing how much worse the mileage of the V6 is.....But the distance to empty is very handy.

yes get the scan gauge , the standard gauges are a guess and the scangauge is accurate. my temp gauge is all over the place and the SG tells me in exact numbers

I have used scangauge for a couple years now. I just got my Tacoma and want to use it. So where is the obd ii connector on the second generation tacomas?

Btw, it does help give you real time info so you know to ease up on gas. I get about 2mpg more when I drive carefully. But I would not consider it a
necessity as one can easily drive more efficiently even without scanguage.

It is as accurate as the info you provide it with. If calibrated correctly, it will tell you within 1% how much fuel remains. Mine is calibrated for a full tank at 78 liters. (a little extra margin of error)

I love mine. The way I rationalized it was that if I can avoid ONE trip to the dealership to read and reset an error code it is worth it (the time involved and the $75 just to hook it up to the "computer"). I also like the idea of going into the dealership with: "Here is the problem..." rather than "Please tell me what you think the problem is." I use mine as a trip computer to keep me honest when driving (MPG-wise). As for the code reading, I have used mine on friends and co-workers cars more than mine. Not cheap, but a good piece of gear.

I saw in the Sky-mall catalog that there is a dongle and iPod/iPhone app that does the same thing, but with a better display, might be something to consider.

It's also got a cap over the port which says OBD II on it.. :)

I'm interested also in getting on, mostly just to have some other gadget in the truck... I'm looking over the SGII website... does the thing actually read intake temperature? Do taco's have a temp. sensor there? How is it possible to get these accurate readings without installing additional senders/sensors? Some of the obvious ones make sense, but intake temperature?
