Is Firestone $200 lifetime warranty for alignment good? Or are they any better ones?

Every tire vendor will have good traits and bad traits about them. I wouldn't put too much stock into the "Lifetime" wording, because tires always wear out, and I'm sure the "Lifetime" only covers the specific set of tires you bought. When you buy new tires, even if they are Firestone's, probably won't be covered by that same warranty.

Do your research on the tires you want. This site is FULL of tire threads, so you can get a really good idea what to buy or not to buy, based on your driving style & budget.

the Firestone lifetime alignment covers the car, not the wheels. I have this and even if you get new tires you get the free alignments without paying the fee again. That said, I’ve had poor alignments performed about half the time, so worth it? Not so sure.

I bought it for mine, just by itself, not with new tires or anything. I got it mainly since I was going to lift it and made sure they knew it. I’ve taken it in about 4 times over about a year and a half. For me it was worth it and they don’t give me any issues. YMMV though. Some people have luck with some locations and some don’t.
Check them out for coupons or if you’re military, that discount. They usually offer 20 or 40 off.

Actually it’s the life of the vehicle. It has nothing to do with tires. I bought it and have gotten 3 alignments no questions asked, never bought tires.

Firestone locations are hit or miss, but that $200 lifetime alignment is a steal and a half. I am lucky enough to have a great Firestone nearby where the master tech is a lifelong off-roader. I happily gave them my $200 and swing in every 6 months or so.

Yes, i think I paid $169.99. They had a deal at that time. However, they can't align everything if the truck is lifted more that 3 inches. They will still do it but it will be on the red. For a lifted truck it really worth it. I go there all the time for alignment even for my previous jeep.

My wife got it for her Sienna and we have never used it yet until we put new tires on the van. I think they sell you stuff like this just to get your car on the rack and see what else they can add to it. So far mine has been a waste of money.

Firestone quality varies greatly between shops and whom is on duty. Two years ago, aligned my truck after installing coilovers. The guy did an awesome job. Took it back three months later after completing a UCA install and a different tech dorked it all to hell and back. It seriously depends on the tech.

My son just bought the lifetime on his car .... again, the tech over torqued the shit out of every bolt touched with a impact gun. He snapped a lug on two different tires and tried to charge the damaged caused. This was a different shop, but again, quality control varies greatly with whomever is on duty.

I purchased the lifetime alignments there on my last two vehicles, they offer $40 off coupons on it every once in awhile. I would say it’s worth every penny. Ask for a before and after print out of the specs beforehand and they will do it correctly every time, I’ve heard people say they’re terrible and just toe and go. I’ve seen otherwise, yeah it’s younger guys who are less experienced but they know those machines and are trained properly on how to use them, alignments are not difficult to do.

It is worth it, I’ve bought it twice for two trucks. But as others have said it highly depends on the tech working.

If you have multiple firestones in your area I would ask around to see who does the best job. Then stick with them and it’ll pay off.

    Enough for now
I got it and use the hell out of it but I also have a firestone near where I work, like can walk to my office after dropping off the truck. I'll go off roading on the weekend and drop the truck first thing Monday depending on how tough the trails were.

Instead of giving you an uniformed guess as an “opinion” like some on here are giving you, I’ve been doing the lifetime Firestone alignments on 5 different vehicles for the last 15 years or so and out of 20+ alignments they’ve done for me, I had issues with only one, which I brought back a few days later and they re-aligned it (for free of course) and corrected it. They are also usually only $169.99 with an online coupon that seems to always be available on their website, so it’s a great deal.

It’s a chain so it varies by locations. If you find a good one with a good tech it’s worth it. Most probably just set the toe and let it go.

Idk what y’all are doing to ruin alignments. I’ve had 1 in 250k miles.

I am betting that this is one of those things that they sell, but hope a good portion of people who buy it will not take full advantage of (which is probably true). Like any "warranty" product, they would not sell it if it was not a money maker for them.
