Is it normal to feel every crack in the road? Even the tar that they fill cracks with?!

I believe rear 5100s are tuned for weight. So they suck when empty. When I had em on my rear they ride like butter with 400 pounds but shitty when empty.

I've been debating on throwing my OEM leafs back in just to verify it is indeed the dakars but I've been lazy and don't want to ride with the bro lean. I might need to do this sooner than later and just pony up the cash for a more progressive leaf pack

I'm running the old style Dakars with the 3rd leaf removed and it rides great when I don't have the RRT on but with the tent it's softer than I'd like. I'm planning to put the 3rd leaf back on in the spring.

Fox 2.5 extended travel up front with the swaybar removed and SPC UCAs and the Dakars out back with Fox 2.0 remote reservoirs and load range C tires

That’s what it is. The truck nose dove all the time when braking and the front end went up when accelerating. Super soft. You can take curbs at 50 mph. It was nice. At 80 mph though and hitting the brakes, the nose dive was a lil scary. But didn’t happen often.

I added the progressive Icon AAL to a set of stock takeoffs from a new tacoma, removed the overload, and added bags. Run a cradle on the bags too. I leave the bags near 0 when not loaded. Still stiff but not super bad. I wouldnt describe it the way you describe yours. TRD Pro Bil setup for front springs/shocks and rears shocks. Fronts pretty gravy, back a little harder. Probably could have just done stock springs with the bags and been fine, with a better ride.

E rated tires, dakar 096s, less than optimal weight. That's the culprits as stated by many above.

I leave my RTT, rack, fridge, 2 water and 1 gas jerry in the back just to settle it out and that's ~350 lbs. Any less than that and I take a bat to the kidneys every speed bump at the store.
