I have an 07 double cab prerunner 2wd 6 lug. I have thought about maybe doing a lift but not sure. I am looking for some input. Also if I did lift it maybe 3" or so mainly just for looks what is the best route to go?

You do what makes you happy. Being a prerunner you can go whatever size your little heart desires.

I think the 3" lift looks great, but anything over that looks silly.

No stupider than lifting or lowering any other vehicle. If you want to do it, do it. It will increase your clearance (which it sounds like you don't need). If you're just doing it for looks and have no intentions of pounding it, just get a cheap spacer lift (like $225), some bigger tires, black everything out, turn up the stereo, and cruise to the mall to hit on chicks.

Lifting a 4x2 is like neutering your dog - after you are done and you look underneath it you realize it has no balls.

    ok,

my truck is prerunner (4x2) and i lifted it. i dont off road (anymore)

lots of people do it. And either way it looks good.

i say go for it

i would stay away from spacers.
    and if money is tight

i would go with Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks in the front set at 2.5" of lift. and then an add a leaf for the back to level it out.

thats what i did and just by looking at it it looks like its a 3" lift AND you do it in a quality way for a lot cheaper than spacers
