my Meso minimalist Fob went through the washer and dryer unfortunately. I pulled it apart and am letting things dry- no new battery on hand to test it.

Am I fuq’d? Figure can’t be the only one who’s done this LOLOLOL

Chances are... yes. The circuits and contacts will corrode. Especially with the detergents used in the laundry.

I have washed my Lexus fob twice. Dried it out new battery, and it worked fine.

Dry it out, prop up a hair dryer on cool and let it blow air accross it for about an hour. It will work, ask me how I know. It happened to me with my 4runner remote about a year ago.

    Workin' on it....
I killed a cell phone twice once wading into a lake and the second time jumping into a pool.

Rice brought it back from the dead....twice.

No, it actually works. I’d be worried about the detergent as someone mentioned already.

I have that for my primary fob. Not sure it would help the stupidity of washing it tho!

    It's complicated.
The rice works well, but it's slow. Desiccant crystals work much better; faster too. Both methods have saved me from having to buy new phones, several times.

Of course, all of this hinges on having removed the device from the water, almost immediately.

Take the battery out and let it dry, once it dries completely (the longer you give it the better) then insert a battery and give it a shot. Any current running through it while its wet will damage the circuit board
Had to explain that to my wife and daughter, not easy :annoyed:

    Lots, straight from the factory.
Should be fine provided the buttons weren’t pressed while wet.

Dry and new battery. Should work fine. Every fob I have had has been washed at least once.
