What's the alternate type of LED that fits in the switch?

My '12 lights up with the dash lights. There is not an indicator to let you know if they are on or not. You can visually tell if the button has been actuated. Hope this helps.

Bringing this thread back from the dead in hopes of an answer; I assume the 2014 models foglight switch is supposed to light up as well? If so, mine has failed, is the part number the same among all 2nd gen tacos? if also yes, is there an LED equivalent so I dont have to spend a 6 pack of beer and 3 therapy sessions to fix a single light again?

Is there an after market or toyota OEM switch available that fits and lights up I wonder?

Ch4x4 has them, so do others on Amazon. They use a different connector with 4 wires.
Led power connects to dash light power and comes on with headlights.
Led ground connects to dash dimmer ground which is not the same as chassis ground.
Switch power connects to 12v source.
Switch output connects to foglight relay.

The secondary led gets powered when the switch is on and has the same internal ground connection as the stand by led so it can also dim with the dash lights.

If you don't want dimming just use chassis for ground.

Yes there is. I swapped out all of my interior lights to blue. everything, even the powered window button. I believe the fog light button is a NEO twist in, something like this. Sorry, it has been a few years since I completed this. I can look into it more if you need help finding the exact bulb. https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...MI1qTbttzr4gIVBKSzCh39Kgo7EAQYASABEgI5PPD_BwE

Yes, all models should light up but many don't light up off the lot. Heres one of the countless threads about it and my fixed result as well as which ones I purchased somewhere down the thread. Also yes there are so many different OEM style switches and replacements online.

It's just an ordinary led with the lead wires pretzled into a screw in holder. Not surprising it's unreliable.

Your screenshot in the thread indicates to me that my whole fucking panel is dead save for the bed-plug power control switch. Fmfl

Do they all take the same size bulb?

Just an FYI, napa carries replacement bulbs. They may say they dont have them, just say it is in their specialty bulb box and is for a honda gauge cluster then just find the right one. Climate control illum bulbs also...
My local napa basically goes off what they want to charge. Once it was .75, then it was 6.23 for the same bulb another time.

All of the style switches should be the same. My TRD Sport's bed plug doesn't have any backlighting (just the 2 working indicators) since the letters look painted on. I do not have anything else backlit that I could reference outside of the fog light, which I wanted blue to match my dash LEDs I replaced.

Still catching up as a new member, but wanted add that the cap on these bulbs (orange/green) is removable. My truck has the green caps (2014) and the dealer only could find the orange cap bulbs. I bought one and was able to remove the orange cap on the new bulb and swap in the green one from the burned out bulb.

You have to take it easy and be patient but it can be done without tearing it. Use your fingers with constant gentle pressure towards the top of the bulb. No sharp fingernails! It just suddenly let go with no tears. YMMV. It would be easier if the bulb could be removed first from the plastic holder, but I don't believe it can be. On my truck the RSCA and the VSC lamps were both out.
