I have a 2002 Tacoma PreRunner with 175k on it. My truck was running hot coming back from lunch today and I opened the hood and there is dried up red gunk all along the radiator and more on the front plast engine cover. Is my radiator cracked?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    She gone

The red gunk is the coolant that is spraying from the hole/crack in the radiator.

A radiator replace is really not that hard. An OEM replacement will cost between $190-$200.

Non-OEM radiators can be as little as around $125.

Or you can ditch the plastic garbage radiator and buy one like this one.

I went with the third choice

You can actually see the crack in the pic but it looks like you may have more than just one. Mine cracked in the same shot, backside of the top end cap near the radiator cap. Mine was spewing out like yours though. And mine never ran hot, just lost a bit of coolant over a few months after filling.

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago. I purchased a Denso radiator for $100 shipped on Amazon. If you go with a stock replacement aftermarket, some of the brackets that come with them won't fit the truck, in that case just use the bravkets from the original radiator & it will fit fine.
