You might be right. Because my truck does not have the oil pan skid plate. I'm not sure if that is only for the v6's or if they just missed that one too

Your probly right. But I would rather pay for it and have it now, because stuff happens and I would like it have it covered. Also when I go to pick up the part I'm gonna ask if it could be a qc problem and maybe get a refund

Won't happen unless the dealer installs it with proper RO. Toyota pays for their mistakes. Not the dealer.

    Well it's not a big deal, it's only $10.

Does anybody know about second skid plate that goes over the oil pan?? Mine diddnt come with one and I was wondering if it's just a v6 thing. Because i would really like that second skid

First skid is standard. Second skid (covers oil pan leaving small space for drain plug) comes on TRD OR.

MY concern would be (and trust me, I'm the type of person that really stresses out over my babytruck) that if something got up in there and for some reason causes issues, the dealership may not take responsibility because no where in their records is it saying that you are missing that cover, possible from QC. If you were to have them service it and an issue come up due to it missing, they just might cover any damage. But if you put it on yourself, any damage would be your burden of proof I would think?

Nothing small enough to fit through that hole could do any major damage. Anything that could, would be instantly noticeable by now. The only thing open in there is the flex plate and torque converter (bolted together). Nothing weak in there.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Hell, they oughta replace it for free, just say it wasn't on the truck when you got it! :D I'm gonna check mine and make sure it is there after seeing this.

So the cover is not really needed or really isn't anything to panic about?

It's needed. But not RIGHT now. Just don't go off roading until it's replaced.

so i went to the dealership and as always THEY ORDERED THE WRONG PART!!!

I talked to the parts guy and he said that the cover is not bolted in, it is just snapped in and he said that it could easily come out. So i guess the mud/water must have torn it off. It must have been on there from the get go, it just must have come off.
