With rates as low as they are the wiser decision would be to finance.

Same, I think it can work both ways but I choose not to judge either way because obviously if you have 35k sitting around in a savings and you have no need for it (not sure why its not invested otherwise, but) then it would be smart to not pay the interest. However, I can invest better than the 2.5% interest on my truck so i chose to put zero down and invest otherwise.

There will always be individuals judging people for financing automobiles as they are programmed to believe

"if the person financed it they can't afford it and why would finance a depreciating asset that isn't making you any money?" is their thought process.

I don't judge either way as well because anyone buying a $30k+ vehicle either is well established or have a good paying job.

Personal Finance opinions should not be brought up in these threads but it always happens.

Correct! If you can afford it, great! if you can't afford it, great! We all still own the same truck.

The dealer locked me in at 3.75, then Toyota changed it to 3.0 when they filled out the financing paperwork, then I refinanced at a local CU and have it 1.47% now.

    I ain't no chump.

In 2008 during the recession there was a brief period of time Toyota offered 0% on the Tacoma. That was the last time. These trucks sell too well to offer it.

Call Bank of America or Citizens (Or go online and fill out creidt apps) you can get preapproved through them for very low rates prior to going to dealerships. IF you have pretty good credit it'll be the best way. They are always the lowest unless toyota has some special offer. If you go through the dealership and there is no offer from toyota they'll mark their bank rate up to 2.5% and screw you. Also when you go in ask for the sale price to be $500 under invoice and if they say no go to a different dealer one of them will say yes and you'll get a very good deal. (I work for Lincoln so I'm not just talking out of my ass) If you don't want to go with the first route then when they come back with a finance rate ask them to see the bank rate not marked up and that's the one you'll take.

I signed on mine for a 3.2% rate through Toyota for 6 years. 2 weeks later I randomly got a letter in the mail saying they dropped it to 2.2% :D haha I for sure wasn't going to complain

I ordered my MT off road Nov. 2015 and it came in Feb. 2016. Had an offer from my credit union for around 2.5%, but Toyota Financial at the dealership offered 1.8% for 5 years.
