I'm going to drive it tomorrow morning, and if it pans out I'll buy the silly thing. I guess fate played that hand for me.

That seems consistent with here in North Carolina. The Access Cabs are easily outnumbered 10 to 1, it seems more like 20 to 1. I'm OK with that. It makes mine that much more special.

Hopped a flight and a 6 hour drive back to find an AC TRD OR in cement. Had no interest in a 4 door. In mid September I’d say the 4 door to AC ratio at CO dealerships must have been 30 to 1 if not more.

I believe Jeep said, when asked why they didn't make the Gladiator in other cab configurations, that double cabs account for 80%+ of truck sales, so they didn't see a need to initially make anything else. I know when I was shopping for my first truck, I thought I wanted an access cab, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the extra 9" of bed space wouldn't matter 95% of the time, but the extra interior space would be useful quite a lot. I drove my grandfather's 97 chevy single cab short bed 1500 for months at a time when we had vehicles in the shop and whatnot. Nothing beats the looks of a single cab short bed, but practically speaking it's hard to make an argument against a double cab.

You're lucky, when I was shopping for mine, I never saw one on any dealers lot. I found mine used but they are so hard to find out here.

Over 85% of all Tacos are DCSB so the truck you want especially in MT is an unicorn. Toyota needs to offer both the TRDOR-AC and the DCLB in MT.

That 85% number seems low, just based on my observations. I wonder if there's some place to get the actual number.

Strange that Toyota sells the TRDOR AC MT in Canada (possibly Mexico, I don't really know) but not in the USA.

I have a small dog and I find that the rear suicide doors make it convenient when taking her from the front seat to her crate on the back seat and visa-versa.

This is one of the best things about an Access Cab. There is no B pillar in the way whenever you want Access to the stuff that you carry in the rear seat area. o_O
