I've got a sport model. I'm not particularly fond of the fakeness of the hood scoop. Feel like a liar. Then again many of my cars have had them.

Just wanted to get a second opinion.. I can find many people to swap hoods with me. But.. Need someone to push me off the fence.

Leave well enough alone or flat hood the bitch.

I liked it before I owned the truck, after driving it for a few years I would not trade it for a scooped hood.

Get rid of it , it looks gay . While you're at it get a chrome grille surround and some Offroad Sockmonkey decals .

those are nice decals. I'm currently running "stealth" no badges or stickers. I don't regret buying the sport for the package.. but I do like the off road wheels and bumper.
Chrome grill??? Eh.. take it or leave it. I shouldn't even care... right?

The scoop IMO gives the tacoma a beefier look. Im not a fan of the chrome grill / bumper on the other tacos. looks cheesy and bland to me. Even on the new 4 Runner, it only looks good with the scoop.

If it was a functional one, then its fine bu I wouldn't give up the little extra visibility for one. Ya gotta watch out for those speed bumps!

I think the hood scoop makes the 2nd gen tacoma look aggressive. It would've been nice if it's functional at least. By the way guys, I've been waiting awhile to get to this topic because I have a problem with my scooped hood ever since i bought my truck. When I hit freeway speeds, my hood has a wobble shake to it, almost like if it wasn't secure tightly on the hood latch. I swear I checked everything thing but cannot come down to any conclusions. Everything looks original to me, doesn't look like it's been in an accident before. I also have on a factory bug deflector, but I can guarantee that it's not the bug deflector because my buddy has the same setup and his hood doesn't wobble at high speeds. Anyone with the same problem or any ideas on what's causing this??? Hit me up because I'm starting to get annoyed by it.

Yay a poll.. Which I'm not going to vote on... I like the scoop and so do the majority of others, if you have a sport and don't like it then happily trade it for an unscooped hood.

If you don't like it, swap it with someone. I'm sure there a lot of people willing to swap + give you cash for it.

yea.. I threw up a craigs list ad and tons of people wanted it.. took down the ad in a couple hours.

Since the outside of the truck is so much for others .. I felt maybe I would be de-cooling myself. No problem finding a hood. My truck is silver..
