I KNOW Subs. I lived on them....a hood scoop is no Sub...:D

That said, if I had a scoop would I take it off and trade it? Nope. Would I buy a truck because of the scoop...No..

It is irrelevant. Like colors it looks good on some trucks and at worst transparent on others. I would keep it. It's part of the packages and will help hold the resale value up unless you plan on being buried in it. I always keep an eye toward resale. Likely because I switch cars like underwear (at least my wife says so...and she cleans it....my truck and underwear) LOL

If I were looking for a sport or taking one in on trade as a dealer i would want the truck to be represented as what it is....Just sayin.

You'll see a bunch of people snapping pics that would not have any of my respect and therefore would bring me down. nyuk nyuk nyuk.. that sure is a purdy truck, once I gets me a job I wants to get me one of those.

Anyway... yea.. looks like most people with a package have the sport, cheaper and sells easier?
SO the disparity in voting is probably right down that line. I feared as much.
Thats ok. I'll just go with my gut. THere's an offroad next to my kids school in the same model and color. I'll park next to it and ponder a second or 2.

No you arent. You can't make the air intake better other than maybe "laminarizing" the flow, or replacing corrugated pipe with a smooth one, its perfect cool air. Mine stays just about at ambient all day.
Cutting out that scoop might suck air out of the engine and increase cooling; which the truck does not need at all; or you might pressurize the engine compartment and reduce engine cooling through the radiator.

Its in what is usually a very low pressure area and I vote for option one... but its silly.
Not to mention the way its put together... its not as easy as dremmeling out your gto hood scoops.

Judging by just the outward appearance when looking at the Sport and Offroad models after finding out the scoop was infact fake it really turned me off. I was surprised Toyota did it...just seemed kinda poser to me.

Should be some rubber bump stops that you turn up so hood fits better.
As for my scoop I love expect when 4wheelin at times. Makes it hard when coming up to hill then as about to crest it. UGGGHHHH!!!!! GLARE!!!
Other than that I love it!:)

I'm not much into features that serve no purpose. I think they're kind of hokey.
