Is the Tacoma TRD Pro worth the extra $10k over a TRD Off-Road, ZR2 or Ranger?

I was in the same boat as you. I ended up going with a TRD Off Road. I didn't feel the extra $10K was worth it on the Pro since I would still want to lift and change the suspension and get different tires/wheels. I decided to save the money on sticker price and put it into making the truck I really wanted.

no. but i don't think the difference is really 10k. I got my pro for msrp. If you look at an 18 OR with leather, the only thing it has over the pro is the sunroof and jbl. But the msrp difference is a lot closer (mt to mt).

however, if i had to do it again, i'd probably go fully loaded OR. I have no desire or need to lift mine but still.

I always forget about the Dakota! Friend had one with the V8. Total gas hog but you couldn't kill that thing to save your life! Got about 13 mpg too and that was back when no one kept up with gas mileage.

That's what I'm starting to think... Cement or MGM Offroad

I think the premium heated seats/moonroof etc. Is worth the extra $$ but after that you get pretty damn close to a TRD Pro in terms of monthly payment

The sticker prices may be kinda close but you will be paying MSRP for the Pro and you can pay well under for the Off Road.

I mean, I think a lot of people think the Pro looks nice. It ain't half bad looking and I'm sure it performs well off road

With out getting too involved, I found the ZR2's advertised for around 40k and the TRD Pro's around 45k. I would pick the Taco, but hey, I am on Tacoma World. You might get another opinion if you ask the Colorado World dot Com crowd.

Looks, reliability and high resale......you have no choice but Tacoma!

Drive several models to see if/what you like. I chose the pro (4runner model) because I’m not modding, I love the look and stock form of the pro model and I plan on keeping it for the next 30 years and one million miles. So, I’m going to get my bang for the buck out of my ride. If you’re wanting to mod, or get rid of it in a few years, then go with the off-road to save a little money.

ZR2 & Ranger wont give you the resale value nor the reliability, your looking for!

Myself I couldn't justify the 10k more than the O.R.

P.S. I still find the Taco sexier than the GM, especially the interior.

Imagine the hysteria if Toyota announced "we are shutting down production of our entire Tacoma line tomorrow."

I know the differences of the tacoma pro, but what does the 4runner pro have?
